Lloyd Klein sneak peek Reflecting on Lloyd Klein Saturday, September 11 at 7PM The Plaza at Bryant Park Mirror mirror on the wall…More than at most shows, being a VIP at Lloyd Klein’s September 11th tent show in Bryant Park is of utmost importance. Converting the space to best suit his theme of “Reflections of Madame Grès,”—the designer was her head designer in the 90s—the mid-level seats will be removed entirely to create an intimate salon, with the feel of a mirrored jewelry box. Replacing the mid-section with mirrored platforms of various heights, a mere 100 VIPs will have the opportunity to sit in clear Lucite Philippe Starck-designed Louis XV Ghost Chairs. The mirrored platforms will be a focal point of the show, with models making their way around the catwalk U, and then taking their place on one of the many mirrored boxes, joining a Lloyd Klein costumed ballerina and two male models. Wanting the presentation to feel like a party, pink champers will be served for the duration of the show, giving it a lounge-like air—especially for the seatless! And the clothes? “Having once been the head designer for Maison Grès, I have been influenced by the sensibilities of the legendary Master of Couture. With Spring 2005, I am incorporating the distinction of precise draping and meticulous tailoring for the woman who is dedicated to a glamorous ‘second skin.’ It is ready-to-wear with a couture emotional response, said Klein about his collection. The line is comprised of 3 separate groupings: impeccably tailored suits in cool lightweight crepes and light summer leathers, intricately draped silk jersey cocktail dresses and lush red-carpet evening gowns and a selection of hand embroidered blouses and underpinnings in jersey and satin de soie combinations.
