I've always thought that female manga characters are very lolita. I have a hunch that manga is going to weave its way into fashion... that's bound to look really cool. I've already heard of japanese girls putting large, black coloured lenses into their eyes to make them look bigger, just like the eyes of manga drawings... With the ribbon and bow trend as well as the focus on long legs (influenced by the 60s and the shorts trend of this summer) I really think manga is on its way to become somewhat in fashion.....

Lolita s/s 06

I've noticed a naive sexuality on the s/s 06 catwalks reminicent of Nabokov's infamous character. Being how popular the original Lolita thread is I figured this trend would have more than a few fans.

There's something about all of the delicate details...puff sleeves, soft lace and eyelet, pale colors, odd styling, childlike shapes....that looks very Lolita-esque. Whereas the romantic trends of last season were very grown up and polished, this season they took on a younger, almost rebellious look. Pair the clothes with chunky platforms and heavily made-up pink lips and you have a new, more aggressive take on the Lolita look.

^ Perhaps I should've finished, 'so Lolita can't be half bad' :P

(and I agree ^_^)

I'm loving a lot the babydoll dresses shapes for S/S 06, the A-line ones but also the straight and short ones. I think that I'll be really into this when spring comes.
Miu Miu dresses are lovely:heart:

i was watching lolita this morning - how appropriate that i stumbled onto this thread

wonderful pics in this thread - i love this look!

I love this look as long as it isn't over done.
And Nabokov's book Lolita is phenomenal!
It is one of my favourites.

I've been meaning to post this link for some time now, but I couldn't find it. I remember this editorial from W back in 2001 and I've loved it since I first saw it. I think it has a kind of lolita feel to it....
