Religious dilemmas were all over the collection designed by Lorenzo & Marcelo Barbosa for the label Lorenzo Merlino. The venue for the show was the french-origin school Liceu Pasteur, at Vila Mariana. The designers opened a discussion on the recent events on France with the ban of religious symbols on french schools.
When the school bell rang, the guests were able to witness the models strut the pieces throughout 6 different classrooms where guests sat.
As you may see ..there's practically no make up with the exception of the unibrow look.

thanks for the thread, ultramarine and thanks for bumping, cerfas! this is really interesting, especially as the whole debate is still in people's heads here....

I'm a huge fan of the hooded neck tie/scarf...

I noticed Jeremy Scott had one with his summer collection...

I really like the whole idea and look of them...

as for the collection as a whole, I'm not too fond of it if i'm being truthful...

i'm suprised at how much i like this...
normally i'd think it a bit rigid and in your face....
but it actually really appeals to me...

i love the cut at the bottom of the skirts and dresses....
so many angles and lines....

lots of contrast....
and the shoes are fantastic!....

i just think its great....
and even more wonderful that it has depth....
and is making a passionate statement...

i think that first outfit in post #14 is my favorite...
gorgeous!!!!...

thanks ultramarine!...

:D

You're welcome, Anna

jhaime, what in particular don't you like about it?
It appeals to me because I've tried some of these clothes on, they fit very nicely, it's just easy to wear basics...but I like the aesthetic because it's a little more hard-edged, pretty but kind of strange...

I really think Lorenzo Merlino is going to develop into something good.

cerfas!!! I looove you! finally someone picked this up!

His inspiration for the collection came from the French situation with middle eastern schoolgirls not able to wear ... erm ... well.... those scarfs and face thingies to recognize themselves because of their religious beliefs ....

About the collection .. reminds me VERY much of a past McQueen collection ... with the matador inspiration ... I like him!

WTF @ C&A!!
