Lou Doillon

^Not my taste here. At all. It's like what you'd find one some hipster-ish pseudo provocative kid blog.
She hangs out too much with Zahm, almost whenever he posts a pic of Lou it's on the verge of what I find vulgar...

^I thought the same when I saw these pics.
I don't like this kind of Lou, I prefer a "true Jane Birkin's daughter" Lou.

That's funny because when I see these photos I am reminded of just how much she is Jane's daughter.

I mean, have you seen how little Jane wore out in public? Or the photos she would take with Serge?? She rose to fame through her vulgar acts. And let's not forget that when she was younger she had that role in Blow Up where she is stripped down to tights and has a threesome with Thomas.

And Lou herself has always been wild. Olivier has just provided more proof.

I think it's funny, how every woman seems to feel the need to show her breast or strip completely naked while being with Zahm.

I don't find any of the examples you've mentioned vulgar. Perhaps, for the period in which they happened, they're described as scandalous but from my current perspective I always find the beauty in each of her acts.

I agree with you that Lou, like her mother, is a wild one .

That's true. I don't know why I put it that way since I don't find the acts vulgar myself. But I'm sure Jane's mother and her mother's mother found the acts vulgar, especially the photos of her chained to a bed. And my general impression was that people felt Lou's action with Zahm were a bit vulgar, so I suppose I was trying to make a point. haha

See,it's not the acts themselves that I find ..well,actually very déjà-vu and trying too hard to be risqué.It's more the fact that it was all done in a context that should have remained private,(as in her hanging out with friends),which is nothing comparable with doing the same thing even with friends for an editorial.Somehow, it looks a little too 'I want YOU to see me get naked in my privacy too'.The boring aspect (and basically the thing that makes me want to say 'I expected much more from you, Lou'),involves girls getting naked for a a creepy old guy like Zahm, which is getting redundant.(I have not a single problem with nudity, but so far, that's all I see in 'Purple' and I find it tiring, especially since the editor-in-chief seems to be making out with his subjects all the time.Basically, I don't see why I have to deal with Zahm's private life or its interaction with his work, especially when it looks more like an old man's fantasy than anything else).

You read my thoughts.B)

Before I get shouted for saying this, let me preamble by saying I love Serge Gainsbourg, who is a National Treasure and a great cultural icon for France. BUT people tend to forget he could come accross as a creepy guy, especially to people not familiar with his work. I think what doesn't make him seem creepy next to Zahm is that Gainsbourg had genuine love for his muses, whether it be Birkin or Bamboo.
Zahm doesn't come accross as so creepy to me, especially with Lou who Im sure can hold her known. What irks me is the hipster posing, look at us having such a grand, wacky, cocked-up time at these parties to which you are probably too square to ever be invited to.

Sorry, reading back this does seem like a big ol' rant...

I think all of thos ephotos are quite dull. Hipster wank is hipster wank.
Hopefully, we can see more Lou doing Vanessa Bruno...that's when she cane be at her best.

i so totally agree with both nanker_phledge at #3072 and lornamorena at #3075

they seem like a pretentious bunch

Well true genius and talent justify a lot of sins. I do not think that people have the same tolerance for mere poseurs.

I think Lou is beautiful and I love her style, that's why I keep coming back, but I'm certainly not impressed with her personality and avoid reading about her.

I know everyone's different in what they like in a person but about Lou's personality I think she's a beautiful person and she just is who she is, I don't get the same sense of I don't know, oddness/snobbery that's maybe coming across in some recent pictures/activities. I don't think she amps herself up at all or tries hard to be chic, cool, different, strange or anything like that, she just IS, it's how she grew up and it's what she's into, she enjoys herself and is lucky enough to be able to do so however she wants whenever she wants I say let her do it. I don't see how some people think she's pretentious etc though I don't see it at all. I don't just mean in these party pics either, this has come up before in this thread
