Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 by Carlijn Jacobs

the shots are terrible but I guess that with those clothes it’s extremely hard to make it look any good.

the video is cute, though.

who shot it, NG again?

Director: Mees Peijnenburg
Photographer: Carlijn Jacobs
Stylist: Marie-Amélie Sauvé

Some of the girls are Akon Changkou, Ida Heiner and Evie Saunders

Not Carlijn's best work. After such a spectacular editorial in M le Magazine today, this feels like a massive let down.

Hideous.

I have to believe this sort of low-end mediocrity that a decade ago would be reserved for a mid-range department store’s spring window display, is blatantly deliberate to entice the witless outlet mall demographic.

Even 1st-year design students would balk at the juvenile, overused cloud seamless… Zzzzzz… then they troll it with the swing LOOOL

The styling is atrocious as usual and overall it looks very cheap and evoking the spirit of David LaChapelle. That Tim Walker campaign ^^ is so much more interesting and creative. Since when did Virgil Abloh have campaigns than Ghesquiere? So embarrassing for Nicolas.

Anyway, this would have been so much more interesting if they shot it on location at the site of the show, Axe Majeur, no?

The video is much better than the photographs.

It's as if they were going for two different vibes which I'm sure was not intentional. I think the decision to showcase the clothing in a very straightforward way was the right one, because they are complicated but the end result is boring and they didn't push the idea enough.

Anyways, those two looks of the blazers and pants tucked into the boots is so comical that I really need to see it on a real person. Decent pieces but atrocious styling.

The clouds just make it look like a cheapened version of the F/W 2020 menswear campaign shot by Tim Walker…

hypebae

Jeremy Scott also brought back Moschino Couture's cloud print from 1992 for a "Moschino x Palace" collaboration recently and that sold well - so i imagine that's why LV is doing a cloud print also.

+ Denise Ascuet, can’t pinpoint the blonde next to her.

EDIT: It’s Fleur Breijer :)

Does anybody know if Ida has an exclusive contract for Louis Vuitton. Because she is only walking and doing
campaigns for them? I love that girl. Would be amazing to see her for another designer :flower:

From design to presentation to campaign, fashion has regressed so drastically and so cynically in just 5 years to such basic and juvenile aesthetic and sensibility, that it’s intentional on the part of these brands to look as unsophisticated, and sadly— cheap, cheap, cheap as possible to reach common taste. It’s a strategic means to optimize brand profile and maximize profits in the era of SM mass-consumption and disposable fashion attention-span. And that’s all that matters to Arnault.
