Louis Vuitton Cruise 2026 Avignon | the Fashion Spot

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2026 Avignon

i will take all this ugly experimental rolled placemat dresses and all the mumsy oversized non-moving dressess if it means we get absolutely beautiful and impeccable looks in between. The brilliance of his balenciaga is peaking through again, all the beautiful silhouettes and layering that just looks so easy on the eyes.

Sorry Hedi, but this is what was in my mind when someone talks about "who could replace karl". And it doesnt even need to be at chanel.

fashion is fashioning again.

the customy vibe fitted the location but it was not a perfect show even if it had high standard moments there was still clutter/clumsiness and forced design decisions but lots of cool NG material, shape & silhouette manipulation ...i just wish it was a total home run on all levels from start to finish.

first part of the music was annoying this time.

He does need someone to help him with the edit. Clearly MAS is not capable of that. I feel like after Julien and Natacha left he doesn't have a team member who's good with editing.

Still a great show though.

I feel challenged, I feel intrigued, I feel questionned and then, 2 seconds later, it's pure love.
Who at LV I need to f*ck to get those embossed leather Bolide bags and the mirrored shoes ?
Seriously, Nicolas has been on a roll since his 10 years show
EDIT: spoke too soon, that Barcelona cruise was not it.

I read the two first comments and clicked with excitement to see the video.
Very powerful beginning. Loved those first looks till the flowy long dresses appeared.
Strong bags, nice separates. It is not derivative or trying to be Phoebe's Céline. That's a lot in today's landscape.

I didn't like the almost omnipresent mirrored boots / shoes.
The dress at 8.50 in the video is another try to be avantgarde playing with volumes and cut, with clumsy results.
Other than this tiny details, there is plenty to love here.
Spectacular set.

Bravo Nicolas!

One of his better collections. I loved the pants. There were few failed experiments but I am not going to critique a designer for trying and actually designing something. At times it felt a bit dated, maybe it was the colour palette. I didn't like the shoes.

Stellar show. First time I ended up enjoying a Ghesquiere show in a very loooong time. Major step up in Cruise from Isola Bella trainwreck and Barcelona so-so collection (that Black and White lace minidress a la Herve Leger on Sascha Quenby will haunt me forever).
Agree with everyone noticing Major influence / inspiration from his very first LV shows: you see the very clear NG silhouette with A line minidress paired with ankle boots and a show stopping accessory.
The very first 3 looks also gave me huge Balenciaga vibes (SS08, SS09) x Emilio Pucci by Dundas, wish he developed more of those looks cause I am obsessed with those.
Those shiny python leather Petite Malle were are the real stars of the show...too bad they are gonna cost at least 15k
PS: can we move on from Julia Nobis and Mica? It's 2025 and they have been around for 10+ years with their basic walks and expressions: yAwn

Love the medieval motif. At first, I dismissed it as corny (which it is tbh), but the way he's done it makes it perfect for a Cruise collection. The metallics are especially striking without being garish.

Reminds me a bit of Lagerfeld's Byzantine Cruise collection.

Love it!

I didn’t know what to expect and most of all, I didn’t expect Nicolas to go to a more literal route.

I think it’s quite a sumptuous, rich and layered collection. That excess of jacquard, lurex, shine, shine shine!

There’s something reminiscent of his Balenciaga years in it, in the way that it felt directional in terms of fabrics and silhouettes. But there’s something quentessential NG for Vuitton in it variety, the richness of the proposition, the way he uses zips, buttons, closure as decoration…etc.

I really love the oversized jacquard tshirt dresses, that insane gold blazer, the A-line knitted dresses. The shoes and bags are also fabulous. I love how the flats gives a more down to earth approach.

I really think that the styling is quite fabulous here because the pieces are still easy to read. A dress with a cape, sculptural boleros. It feels less « pushing the envelope or the limits of taste » and more giving a clear statement for women to embrace.

The only misses: the flowy dresses with cut-outs. Maybe over-designed.
In a collection that is very self referential, those dresses, that are another alteration of the Rio dresses, after the version presented in his FW2024, feels unnecessary.

I really really like the oversized jacquard tshirt dresses. I’m tempted!

A collection that looks fresh and unlock again the aesthetic langage of NG.
