Revolting. Burn it all!
Im so so sorry for what Im about to suggest, but: are you guys sure that Virgil designed this collection? The design and execution is sooooooo out of his league!
This is not a harmful or a good collection, is just.. there. Coming from Virgil is good thing I guess.
well you can be sure that he has a great team around him
His work was choose the prints and colors, probably.
I don’t think i’ve Ever seen that many badly made pieces on a runway since Kanye West 2012 collections...
You know, when you don’t spend time in the studio perfecting your clothes, your craft and directly, your knowledge...it shows.
It’s great, Virgil can be a DJ, he can host parties, he can go to Apple’s headquarters, he can work with Nike and a the same time IKEA while meeting with the people of Evian...etc.
No matter how much technology has evolved and how many ideas you can send through WhatsApp or by Mail, when it comes to clothes making, you have to spend time in the studio.
He has said that he is not a designer so i’m not going to mention all of the rip-off in this collection...No, i need to mention them: Hedi Slimane’s Dior Homme 2004, a touch of Riccardo’s Burberry with Raf Simons, a touch of Marc Jacobs.
Nevertheless, there are some good eye catching pieces like the Chesterfield Monogram down jackets and bag, the sweaters, the lace Tisci inspired ensemble and some of the accessories/outerwear.
You can’t cheat with Winter collections, the cut is super important! Unfortunately, he can’t design a flattering shoulder.
Great LVMH! Your cash cow will deliver!
Actually I loved this collection! You guys hate Virgil so much you can't even properly review a collection!
Some outfits are gorgeous!
He has a good team but he also has an eye for eye-catching pieces.
I think Centenera styled it again.
His first collection wasn’t bad but there’s Still this problem of cut! There are some very beautiful outfits there but he needs to spend more time on the cut, really!
Very much so. Everything looks so flat here to me as if I'm looking at a sketch. Even those 3 dimensional pieces, which I find to be cool, but maybe not executed perfectly like you would expect for a brand at this level with the endless resources he has available. And it's funny that you mention DJ'ing, this collection looks curated and not very well designed.
There are some cool idea here and there but I don't see this tenure ending well at all.
i actually really liked this, compared to last season
what a beautiful show, fantastic music and set. really good.
Some of these silhouettes and styles are very Thom Browne but just executed poorly. Yikes!
There´s only one look here that I like, which probably was designed by a stylish intern; because the rest of the collection looks like it was designed by a daltonic clown (aka Virgil Abloh):
P.S. The finale flag parade is embarrassing.
All this time I thought that Virgil only designed the accessories.
Well at least we know that Virgil understands that LV is a house rooted in travel... because he definitely did some traveling to other designers' archives as inspiration for this watered down, amateur mess.
Gorgeous collection. Been really pleasantly surprised by what he's doing here, the debut was good (and grew on me more and more over time), and this one is even better. I really love the monochromatic color palette of most of the looks, very sleek. The tailoring and styling are great. I think he's managing to find a perfect balance between luxury and streetwear. The more street looks are not overplayed, and the more elegant looks are not boring. That croc leather trenchcoat is maybe my dream piece of the season!
Kudos to the presentation as well, it was beautiful! The set, the music, the storytelling, the casting... the cultural and visual impact of his shows are something we all gotta praise.
Lol what a joke.
