Louis Vuitton Menswear S/S 2022 Paris

LOL Walter, then Yohji and now Thom… At this point, I sort of love how he’s just allowed free reign to blatantly rip off anyone he wants so lazily and still hyped to the high heavens, securely cozy in his high profile role LOOOL

(I do dig the electric blue and the black leather wolf-ears look.)

First of all, WHY does this look like a Fall/Winter collection ??? I have heatstroke just thinking about wearing this « Spring/Summer » collection in the current temperatures. Then I get a regular stroke from how heavily lifted this feels from so many designers. I’m tired of him.

If only the collection is as gorgeous as the cinematography. The whole Samurai/Shogun is kinda pretentious & gimmicky. Take that part out because it didn't contribute to the collection at all.

As for the collection, it's lack cohension, it's like 3 different collections present into 1. It's also very heavy for spring/summer. Fur & buffer jackets for summer, only hypebeast will suffer for this. It's funny how he keep insisting on skirt for men when his core client is rather caught dead wearing one. Well at least the cut of the suit & trousers are improve this season.

The bags and accessories are fun and eye-catching, something the women side is still struggling. Maybe he need to help Nicolas on the accessories and Nicolas can help him on design.

L&VT: Louis Vuitton Trash. Beirendonck again! And with Thom Browne little touches here and there (just to add a bit of "new language" to his non-existent creative process).

To whoever actually designed and created this collection- I know it was not Virgil because he cannnot even cut fabric- I heard that Broadway is opening back up and is in need of costume designers. This “fashion” is so overbearingly stupid. I cannot wrap my head around why the design team has not up and left by now.

I get a sense “Virgil” is trying to pull a fast one us by doing some spoof of Zoolander. Yes, we get it fashion is frivolous blah blah blah. Can he just go back to writing on sneakers and printing t-shirts that cost a months worth of rent already? The ignorance and blatant pretentious is so challenging to those who seek to be inspired by fashion. I feel for the youth today who see this plastered all over social media and assume this is high fashion. Who do they turn to for guidance and credibility? Someone who makes an ice-hockey glove and padded chest piece? The monogram embossed suit is so cliche I get a headache just looking at it. Also, if the numbered jersey did not work for Marc, it is not going to work for you either “Virgil”.

Those neons are so agressive, I don't think my retina will ever recover.

His collections are impossible to understand...I'm the fool, most probably, thinking there's something to understand. On my part I find there's a lot of CdG: the metallic suit, the one that is printed like a tablecloth and the use of scalloped edges...all completely out of place of course. Such a waste of good craftmanship.

There are some interesting ideas here and there in his collections, but most of this is ridiculous and over-styled for the sake of putting on a show, and trying to be avant-garde and "cool". Abloh clearly wants to make his socio-cultural mark at Vuitton in the style of Marc Jacobs, it is so obvious, no?

Let's be honest though, this is just a marketing exercise to get people into the boutique to buy his sneakers and streetwear / logo merchandise, which is exactly what Monsieur Arnault wants to sell in markets like Europe and North America, etc.

The only people that wear buy ready-to-wear / head-to-toe looks from Virgil's collections en masse, are either in China, Seoul (specifically), and Japan, and from what I can see here, this collection will be a hit with those markets.

I can't take this serious considering it's a SPRING SUMMER collection. Like, seriously, what the f?

Love it. i think he's doing incredible job at LV to make it exciting and fresh

There are some nice pieces but as others have mentioned its like 3-4 collections in one and those neon and Demna type pieces are an absolute train wreck . Overall if it was not for identity politics , someone with actual talent would be at the helm at LV Men, the same goes for Dior and Chloe.

This man give LV men no identity. Just ripping off other designers in each collection shamelessly. And I put the blame of the LVMH and the fashion industry. You created this. THIS. Trash is trash. Even with LV label slaps on it. It's still trash.

The WORST part is that tasteless bloggers and hypebeasts will be all over this. All over these vile, acidic neon colours that make your eyes bleed, then take their selfies in these outfits and make all the others poke their eyes out. This is so bright, so ridiculously "LOOK AT ME!", I absolutely hate this kind of fashion. No cut, no art, nothing, just people buying this to say "I got money for ugly, but expensive LV, ya$$$".
