i think this is one of marc's most awful season for lv ever.....

makes two of us :ninja:

i'm sure there will be few cute pieces here and there but the mood is all wrong
no doubt, fashion editors will much adapt the look, they have NO choice

I would say I like about 2 of the dresses...all the rest, aiaiaiii -_- I can't seem to find much common ground in the collection, it's like he's had a load of different ppl designing then bringing it all back together at the last moment.

Thanks for posting jssy ;)

Lena ... Im convinced we were separated at birth ...

I thought the same thing .. wtf? Kors doing Vuitton?

And then I saw the references to Versace with the chain prints on the silk bags and then the Hermes references with the orange coats ... hum ... all over the place .... not not good.

They need to adress the balance of power between their design budget and their advertising budget, methinks.

Then again, Marc Jacobs is probably costing them a pretty penny and I'm sure a team of trained monkeys could do his job for enough peanuts, judging from these bags...

I say, let's give the underemployed monkeys a chance :D

Here's how it would work ... they'd have one set of buttons referencing the house codes, and another set referencing various codes of other designers past & present--never mind the vintage, Suzy hated it. (There would never be a need for anything original, I don't think--do you?) The monkeys would type away to combine the two, and voila! I'm looking forward to it ... there's no way it could be worse than that fringed Murakami bag, and it could well be better!

After seeing the video, the fabrications, the movement...I'm changing my tune just a little. This should be a total disaster but it's not, quite frankly. The colors are beautiful, I would die to get my hands on some of those fabrics. He meets Versace half way, tones down their hard edge, ups his glam factor a bit, takes the Civil War hats and the arm braces from Marc by Marc, does them in vinyl with those juicy colors...it was all so casual and non chalant, fun and young, wearable, not minimal, not lady like, not romantic. Almost going toward a harder edge like McQueen but doing it with more of a nod nod wink wink. I thought it was really fun, quite nice. The Bo Derek bags, however, still stink.

What you say here is very interesting ... I don't think I care enough to watch the video ... but I must point out ... you're a guy & no one is suggesting you wear this stuff ;) B) I mean, a mini mini with a multi-colored carwash back right at the cheeks??? :yuk: I think he's after the Baby Phat customer.

just feel it turns too much~

New to here~:flower:
after the show, I feel vuitton turns their original sweet too much...
but who knows, maybe it's still popular amoung

very very hit and miss.....
i wouldnt be so quick to dismiss it as quite as disgusting as you have all ventured to say..... but i do agree some of this is quite misguided...
the bags, for one, are just depressingly awful.....
some of this is quite tacky....

but there are pieces that stand out as refined and lovely....

i agree with rocky....there's just way too much going on....
i cant follow it....and i cant identify a source of inspiration....
there is a little bit of everything.....nothing unites this collection at all....
which would be my greatest criticism....
there's just nothing to hold onto.....nothing to grasp here....

just occasional nice pieces that are quickly followed by something unattractive and seemingly completely unrelated....
:ermm:

the best pieces of the collection, imo.....

I'm with you, Bird :flower:

Oy, I'm not sure what to say. It's got funky aesthetic. Very Italian 80's. But it's kinda ugly, no? Such a random departure from last season, it was a bit of an insult.

Buut, methinks it's going to get lots of editorial space.

The thing about the minis that are interesting is that he developed them in that same stiff couture fabric of his own collection, which I loved. So, they don't really make the *** pop out like WHAM! which would thus make it impossible for the B. Phat customer to wear. Non, these suckers are more like lampshades, they hold their shape, hide all the special bits, a little class and a little trash all rolled up into one. I think it's 'cheeky'.

Cheeky indeed :D Possibly *very* little class, but have it your way ;)

Yeah, I did notice some of that fabric, for example in the pieced jacket and skirt, which I thought were some of the stronger pieces in the collection ...

Here's the dress I was talking about ... (style.com)

Took a look at the details ... there are some nice bags and jewelry.

This one is really not so bad ...

and this, I thought, was the piece de resistance ... and actually--wait for it--demonstrates continuity from the fall collection! simply amazing!

 That's exactly what I thought when I saw it!
I was very dissapointed too with the whole collection

The rainbow thingy looks quite OK on the runway, however it will look absolutley horrific in real life

After watching the video with the music and models, I like the show even more. The clothes aren't the greatest, but I think a step in a different direction was great. It'll give us something new to talk about. Too often we critisize a designer for being safe, but Marc did something new, and cool IMO, and I love it.
