Ludovic de Saint Sernin S/S 2022 Paris

It seems that Ludovic de Saint Sernin has been more interested in moderating his not-so-secret X account on Instagram than in designing clothes. This collection was just overkilled when it comes to nudity. It was done without any real taste nor point of view. It's literally about a guy wearing some basic, skimpy black swimwear with contrasting stitching. What's more, Ludovic's vision is so narrow that there's no evolution in his work. Season after season he's been showing almost the same stuff. Furthermore, isn't it alarming that he's been catering solely to the super exclusive universe of white, skinny gay boys of Instagram? Because, to me, there's a difference between knowing your clientele and being this exclusive and closed-minded.

I feel like we should forget about him already.

That's my biggest issue with him (other than the obvious lack of design ideas lol).

On IG there is a video of the wall with the polaroids of the models in thier looks. It feels almost as looking at the Grindr gallery.

He is a boy with business mind and two or three ideas, let's not pretend he is a fashion designer or creative director. He is an underwear designer venturing into p*rno-aesthetic. Nobody cares about the collection etc. Let's just leave it there and move on. He will not evolve or challenge himself because there is no need for that as he will gain more and more money out of the mediocre and vulgar collections.

I find the womenswear very unnecessary. It doesn't have the allure and subversion that made his menswear great.

Not the best offering but I still love his brand. It's unapologetically fun, queer and sexual, and there's nothing wrong with that. The swimwear is great too!

Yet another cash-grab from this cheap pornographer...

If I tell people with good taste and proper luxury clients that this guy actually gets a lot of traction on instagram and a lot of my former friends, who are now fashion instahoes, adore him, they'd probably roll their eyes so high that they'd do a 360 degree.

All his menswear is not sexy at all, it looks like it was made for inexpensive, young, twinky sluts that can't find money and have to give up their dignity for their daddies. Womenswear is just a filler, clearly.

I'm going to go against all odds and say I actually dig the pure sl*tty-ness. I don't think I'm confident enough to wear anything of this though.

Incredibly tacky. Dion Lee does this so much better.

This isn't sexy. It's pathetic.

Another fatphobic designer who thinks just showing abs and skin is sexy. Sexy is an attitude.
Everything is clearly poorly executed with poor details and looks worse than clubbing gear you can buy on Shein or Wish.

I think it's interesting how seriously some people have taken on that insufferable sl*tty stupid twink Paris Hilton type attitude. Reducing your entire self into the most superficial toxic thing possible. It is so pretentious it hurts. Like... no one really perceives you as cool lol

It is a classic Ludovic de Saint Sernin collection. Clothes based on sex, on Mapplethorpe and an idea of hedonism.

Jacquemus and him are the two French designers making a name by themselves. Both are insufferable sometimes.

His casting is not more fatphobic than the usual male castings from other brands. So not sure to understand why it is an issue specifically with him and even more when you know what he wants to portray and sell to people.

Except that brands like kinda created sexy clothing like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana use plus size models. Jacquemus who made "sexy" sexy again in Paris uses plus size models.
Anyway this brand is an expensive joke that's gonna be forgotten soon ;)
