Lutz Huelle S/S2024 Paris

I’ll always have a soft spot for Lutz!
I think he is really the only one who has kept the Arte Povera spirit of Margiela. It has that very DIY quality but it’s exquisite in terms of cut and finishing…

‘Real RTW you want to integrate in your wardrobe.

I really love it. I’m literally shopping while watching those looks. The shirt dresses, the shirts, the two-tones coated jeans and pants, the kind of black tulles overcoats that would look totally great with a belted white shirt under.
I really, really love it. Even the video has that charming thing of early 00´s fashion videos.

‘I really wish his work was more visible, that he could do more because he is a gifted, talented and consistent designer.

I like the "post-it" black pieces...but just because they remind me of Gucci by Tom Ford F/W 2001.

I don´t like his taste for mixing fabrics, textures and colours. It feels very DIY...and I presume the prices won´t be exactly DIY.

I love Lutz's way with fashion, and enjoy a lot of this. Plus he has the best smile and charisma so it adds to the charm of his clothes. The foiling I love and use of sequins I'm really into (still on a sequin train here, stop me). Fantastic cuts too.

He is the type of designer though where I wish he had a better platform, and a little more financing for him to really go for it for a collection or two. As of late, his collections have something you want to see being pushed just a bit further.

I suppose he is comfortable and has carved out his own little niche with his brand. Frankly that is commendable and hard to acquire in this current fashion-sphere. But if he had just that little bit more to the backing and visibility god could you imagine?

The attention he receives from fashion media compared to his talent is a scandalously scant. All the while the same media drool over the likes of Harris "What-the-f**k-is-he-doing-at-NinaRicci" Reed or poor, already on the sunset trail Ludovic De Saint Sernin...
Fashion industry really makes you suicidal these days...

I agree that the collections often looks simple and thrown together, as if it they were designed in 2 seconds, and I’m often underwhelmed at first at the presentations but this is one of the rare brands where the clothes always look so much better outside of the show.

Like everyone else here I’d love to see what he’d do with a bigger budget. If the collections he did for Delpozo is any indication it could be very special. Or maybe he just likes the diy aspect for his collection.

so true.

Really modest show but what it lacks in scope it makes up for in charm and authenticity. I like the use of cut up denim as a common thread between different pieces of outerwear and the way the color blocking actually flatters the body and doesn’t leave the models looking like Lego men. The best piece for me is the pink satin jacket with the denim detailing, so chic and you could pair it a thousand ways.

There's a bit of repetition in these looks but it mostly works for me. I wish he'd do a show again though, it would have been great to see these in motion instead of a CK one advert.
