M. Martin designers Jennifer Noyes and Alex Gilbert delivered a focused lineup of easy yet sophisticated pieces. A belted navy blazer-coat and long cotton or linen tunics evoked a loungy ease, while an orange belted sash skirt and a sailor striped midlength skirt and crewneck combo had a slightly more dynamic edge.
The nine-month-old brand’s intent, said the designers in their show notes for their first New York Fashion Week show, was to deliver “modern femininity with a fresh collection of refined wardrobe staples manufactured in the U.S.” Mission accomplished.
