MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA: MADISON STUBBINGTON

It’s a Mad Mad world which we love because Madison Stubbington is one of our favourite IMG faces and we completely loved her Maison Martin Margiela moment last week. Here she shares with us.
10: You walked in John Galliano’s comeback show at MMM, what was it like being part of a fashion moment?
Madison Stubbington: Pretty great of course! I am so honoured to say that I was part of such a much awaited fashion moment.
10: Were you nervous we would’ve been!?
Madison Stubbington: I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous! And when I’m nervous I drink water…just ask the backstage people and they’ll tell you I was asking every 5 minutes for a sip!
10: What was the vibe backstage?
Madison Stubbington: It was so surprisingly calm. Everything/everyone had more of an excited feel, rather than the usual stressed out. There also weren’t any backstage photographers so it was quite spacious.
10: You looked incredible in the red coat dress fiery against your red hair! – what did it feel like?
Madison Stubbington: It was a much anticipated moment for me to find out what I would be wearing, and I wasn’t disappointed! That colour red plus those latex leggings? And the amazing shell design… It was definitely an outfit in a class of its own and made me feel incredible!
10: What was it like walking to Hey Big Spender and not breaking into a Shirley Bassey swagger? Hard ?
Madison Stubbington: Ahaha – well luckily enough for me I spent the two days before the show listening to the song. So I got that part out of my system…but there were a few little dance moves throughout the line up when the show did start and a good song makes walking the runway a whole lot easier.
10: Anyone fabulous you met?
Madison Stubbington: John Galliano for sure!! When he was around he was always saying something funny and making everyone laugh. Plus he is the mind behind countless fashion masterpieces, and what’s not interesting about that?
10: We’ve heard that everyone cried front row after the show, any tears backstage?
Madison Stubbington: Not that I saw…but everyone was definitely super happy, cheering and clapping.
10: So how do you follow that?
Madison Stubbington: I’ll be heading to Paris within the week, where I’ll meet the clients and hopefully be able to be apart of a few more couture shows. After that fashion month begins…so off to NYC for castings!
