I noticed Harper's Bazaar US uses Doutzen Krauss a lot...

Alot of it has to do with the photographers who shoot for the specific mags. Bazaar uses quite a bit of Greg Kadel, and Greg Kadel shoots Doutzen quite a bit, and so on with W and Michael Thompson etc etc. Some models also have contracts with the magazines such as how photographers have contracts. This could easily be while we used to see so much of KK in American Vogue.

Well, am I off or has Am Vogue not used Caroline for 2 issues now?

I think even if she didn't have eds in the last two issues.. the fact that she had an editorial.. issue after issue after issue is enough to put her in that category... the only other girl I think who Vogue US used that much is Daria in 2005...

Yeah, I could probably make a list of hundreds of models since the 60s and forward who belonged to that category. It just suddenly struck me that Caroline may not be as prominently featured anymore. They tend to go with one (or more) for a year and then drop them. Daria is more of a fixture, but Hana, Eugenia and Elise, whom they used to use quite often, have not used for a long time now.

American Vogue loved to combine Lily D,Caroline,and Gemma. Gemma was also in British Vogue all the time(as is now). I havent picked up an issue of Teen Vogue in quit some time,but they used to feature a model named Camille a lot.

i have to disagree...
i think the girls meisel picks for vogue italia covers are a bit edgier in their appeal...
heather bratton, amanda moore, anne-maria, etc...

only sasha, snejana and iselin of the more recent cover girls have appeared in vogue, and i think it's more to do with their ad campaigns than anything else...

maybe amanda moore's time is coming...

He probably got sick of her.. to put it blunty.. well he still uses her once in a while.. but he's moved onto a new "muse"...

What does it mean when people say a model has a contract with a Magazine? I remember someone saying that Jessica Stam had a contract with Steven Meisel and that he had a say about what she could or could not do and who she could work with in regards to her image. And then I also heard that Du Juan had one with Vogue Paris. Do they get paid from these or is it more about exposure?


Also Joining in the discussion: Diana Dondoe seems to be used in W quite often.
