I don't really hang out with uber-trendy people anymore so please enlighten me about the #1 trend in your location and about where your location is!

A few things I have noticed are a lot of very short clean looking shorts with solid tops and high heels. I'm currently in south Florida.

here in stockholm I've seen LOTS of:
shorts, all types..
footless tights
chains everywhere: belts, necklaces etc
these I don't know what to call them but I posted a pic, it's from DSquared, I've seen lots of people wearing those but not necessary in jeans or in caprilenght (tehy've been worn shortlenght too)..
wedges
dresses along with the footless tights
gold accessories, like belts, shoes, bags etc..
belts in the waist

oh thank you.. I wasn't sure because they're called 'snickarbyxor' here and the direct translation to that is: carpenter-pants (?)

I am not far from you, I am in Atlanta. Many of the trends I see here this summer are

long tight shirts
leggings
choppy haircuts
big belt, belt buckles and other very large accessories
loose skirts
wedge shoes

vintage belts
huge sun glasses
scarf head bands
overalls are coming back

Italy (Florence):

-shorts but not in denim,
-mid-shorts in denim :D,
-flip-flops (and I hate them),
-strapless tops (and I  them)
-small handbags (and I HATE them!!:furious: )

In Spain:

Polka-dots are everywhere!

Also shorts, leggins and headbands.

*uk!
plagues of shorts
skinny jeans . . . massive belt mandatory
red & black. black & white. red & white. the combinations are endless, really?!
if you want you can have the above with polka dots. red dots . . white backgrnd . . white dots . .
metallic shoes. preferably ballet flats
waistcoats?

seems like most trends described here are universal?
how nice. you can be trendy all over the world, all at once! ;]

^Agreed.....add puffball miniskirts, lots of lace insert tops and waist cinch belts in navy, red and black.........actually, the tricolor flag of France seems to be a colour trend in itself that was all over the high street.

lots and lots of dresses in every variation...to battle the summer heat... also lots of vintage...

im in australia and summer is coming, currently im seeing swarms of:

polkadots
stripes
black skinnies
shorts
blue and white
black and white
red and white
nautical
perpex necklaces (Lee Riot style)
havianas
bows
headbands
dresses
leggings
hair in waves

in Montreal

Leggins + denim mini
Huge Belts
Red & Navy
Headbands
Shorts
Polka Dots

in Athens:
*layering (is THE number one trend)

also
*puff sleaves & hems
*dark skinny jeans
*big(er) bags
*bright 'brasil' green

In Montreal:

Balenciaga motorcycle bag imitations
Leggings under skirts or worn alone
Oversized sunglasses

Too many polka-dots.
Too many stripes.
That awful "I'm wearing a ripped denim mini with black leggings and flip flops, I am so stylish!" thing that doesn't make any sense.
Lots of fake Balenciagas
Far too many pairs of Crocs for me to be sane (If I see another pair, I don't know what I'll do!)

A lot of people generally just dress the same.
We don't have many incredibly-stylish people (at my high-school at least, there are some very well-dressed University students). But, I live in Alabama, so...
