I like this collection because i like John Galliano.
It is different and this kind of fashion is a kind of wearable art.
I think this collection would be 10 times better without those ugly shoes. For real.
With heels, everything would look more balanced and desirable because the looks are "elevated streetwear" and the whole collections looks kinda heavy, layered and bulky.
So it's a good collection with a bad shoe selection. And thanks God, the make-up and hair are for once not over-the-top dramatic.
Thank God for John Galliano to save us from a sea of mediocre copycats! I like that we're moving into a degree of consistency, the trench, the silhouette, and it looks remarkably cohesive! My fancy tickles towards the first half, with look 7 & 8 being my favourite!
love so much ! after a great couture show this is awesome as well. his stuff at this brand has really grown on me
I bet of you showed this under some young London designer's name a lot of people here would call it pretentious and ridiculous...
You are right, Galliano's name plays a big role in this case but same time i'm not sure that one young London designer can creat one collection like Galliano does.
Looks 25 and 28 are also very interesting and are looking funny without all the logos, patches and bling-bling.
I understand what Marc mean, but Galliano is far more adept than most to play with silhouette, structure and colour.
I love John but it is a NO for me.
Tired of this, tired of those trench coats, tired of this circus despite the great quality and design and stuff.
Maybe i shouldn't look at the shows anymore as they do nothing to me...No emotion, nothing. Just a line up of impressive technical clothes.
I'll stick to go to the stores. That's it.
my exact feelings. I hated them in the couture show, and I hate them here
His first collections for Maison Margiela were more interesting, the first Artisanal and than, the rtw, were really good but sincerely, i started to be tired too, of course there are nice pieces inside every of his collections but i would like to see John Galliano doing his own brand, i wish one day they will give him his brand back.
Not a fan of PVC in fashion. And if you add volume to plastic, you end looking like a walking tent.
And of course, this wouldn´t be a Margiela by Galliano collection without...another deconstructed trench-coat!!!
He is obsessed with trench-coats!! He should go to Burberry´s!
The difference between a talented designer and someone that is not, is that the talented one can create a wearable collection that also looks kind of over the top and artistic, this have the right styling to be in many editorials and also you can separate the clothes and it's totally for the street. There are many designers who are creating RTW just for the streets and it ends in a total mess. Great collection Galliano!
I bet you are right for the simple reason that a lot of young London designers tend to do weird stuff for the sake of it, without the level of taste or technical control required for the job.
Some people here are accusing Galliano of being repetitive (with the trench-coat dissecting theme, I understand) but I actually appreciate that a designer takes his time to explore a technique thoroughly, instead of throwing out a bunch of half digested ideas the JW Anderson way.
I love the sneakers, for me thats all that this collection is about, the rest is just a pile of stuff. This look is the only one that is doing something for me here.
Sucha a strong pieces from far in details I will fall in love more, amazing he is in form. MargGalliano girls doesnt care what the neighbors will say
Not a fan of the shoes. I would have preferred a heel or something less dramatic personally, but this collection is very fleshed out in terms of what it's use can be. A lot of the looks/pieces will make wonderful editorials whilst still being pretty wearable.
I can see the sneakers being something along the lines of Raf's Ozweego's where I will never fully appreciate them but I'm sure there will be a lot of interesting street looks with them to say the least
I adore those pillow bags and absolutely need one!
