Making Your Own Jewelry!

Softie--all self taught. I just mess around, and if it looks good, I photograph it and then either wear it, give it to somebody, or sell it!

wow...we have some very talented people here...
ayli...you have so much patience to do that...did you take a class or just teach yourself all those variations?

attitude...i love your style...i would suggest a better earring piece...i think that the one you're using looks a bit 'cheap' (very thin wire)...and you chould charge more if you upgraded just that part...;)
Thanks,
yeah I know.

I'm already working on that. Those pictures were some beginning ones. But now that a lot of people are intrested the quality is also better. I just began for the fun, didn''t knew it would turn out this way.

Here are my latest - I regularly do the Bondi markets in Sydney.

aww helena thats gorgeous ^_^ it's so cheerful looking

Here are some earrings I made tonight, contrary to their appearance, they are actually silver coloured (damn that auto-enhance tool) just from a broken necklace.

and here is a necklace I made a while back, out of a piece of lace and a cloth flower, I then threaded some glass beads onto cotton and tied them through the middle, I usually tie it at the back with a white ribbon. (apologies for the bad picture, it's taken from a current picture of it)

fff - the earings & the choker are lovely! well done.

I've just recently started making jewllery again (nothing I want to share just yet, but I will once it is all put together)

but I am wondering where I would aquire a bust to do work on? some of the designs I have dreamnt up require a shape to be held, especially while I am making it - suggestions? prices? anything would be appreciated, thanks!

I think the best thing to do would to google the type of thing you want, you might be able to find online shops or even just the price boundaries of busts... you could always look in craft/sewing shops in your area or (I'm not sure if they do this in america) advertisements in the local paper, if people have one's to sell etc, it's also likely you'd find something on ebay :flower:

I also just realized that my aunt is a home ec teacher, she may know where to get them, and may even be able to get me a discount! :D

I went to the jewelry supply store the other day and literally lost my mind. I was so excited....I was looking at stuff and getting ideas....as soon as I'm done on this project...I'll get to work on some necklaces. My sister is going to be my guinea pig! :innocent:

i also have some stuff...but i'm not properly inspired... :(
i don't know what exactly i want to do yet...:ermm:

soft, do you mean what you want to do for a living? or what you want to do with the pieces? I'm having a hard time figuring out at the moment exactly what I want to do with my passions in terms of a job.

I dunno what I wanna be when I grow up! (which is about..NOW)
