I'm going to be in Manchester UK for a long weekend in October. Any shopping recommendations?

Thanks!

What type of places are you interested in? Designer? Boutique? Vintage? Or a bit of everything?

What places are you interested in? I am from Manchester, the Northern Quarter has great vintage shops these days.

I'm sort of a champagne taste with a beer budget kind of shopper. So I'm interested in vintage or outlets or discount places.

I also love M&S for basics. I realize M&S isn't considered cool shopping, but it's great for inexpensive basics like tee shirts. I assume they have one in Manchester, right?

Thanks for any advice!

Manchester is meant to have the biggest M&S in Europe...apparently (!)

There is a outlet village in a place called Cheshire Oaks, which is near the Wirral (before Liverpool) - so is not that long from Manchester, about 45 minutes in a car.

There is Afflecks Palace and shops around that area that has great unique and vintage fashion.

Plus the Northern Quarter has vintage shops.

Then you also might want to check out the Trafford Centre, but I don't think its that great in there - except for Selfridges.

^^^ i love afflecks palace its such a treasure trove!

also pop boutique isnt far from there and has great vintage stuff too!

i also love going into the office outlet shop office shoes at great prices:heart:

theres a selfridges in manchester aswell as the trafford centre. theres also a dior and vuitton boutique in manchester...and others but i dont know of them...

Harvey Nichols is opposite Selfridge's, there's Donna Karan, Flannels (womens - mens + womens is in st. anne's square, however their mens is mostly Prada Sport etc), Armani & Vivienne Westwood on King Street. The Arndale has just expanded, however the shops are more or less the same, just bigger. Topman has gotten A LOT better recently.

Vivienne Westwood is opening a store at The Trafford Centre. I'm shocked to say the least. Expect WAGs in pirate boots by the end of the year.

^^

i love manchester!! not always in a good wau but i love it ;)

Mulberry , Agent Provocateur , Vivienne Westwood.

Definitely check out a store called Rags to Riches they sell great vintage there not a piece of 80s in sight !
