Think pretty — and we're not just talking clothes. This season, it starts at the top with a beautifully embellished hairdo. At Chanel, Christian Lacroix and Jean Paul Gaultier more than a smattering of charming bows, silk flowers and glittering combs were nestled into eccentrically undone hair. Prettily mussed updos were wound round with glittering bands, and epic ribbon-tied braids reached Rapunzel lengths. Talk about crowning glories.

I always wake up with high ambitions for my hair - and think of all these ridiculous things to jazz it up catwalk-style. Instead I end up just pulling it in a side pony-tail or just leaving it loose.

I do so love how these shows make hair into a spectacle in itself. I especially like the intertwining of fabric and flowers with the hair in the Lacroix show.

Very nice on the runways... ...but it's really not my style... I prefer edgier haircuts, sleek and modern....

Great thread Lena! :flower:

you are welcome kimkhuu..

i know its only for the catwalk, but somehow this gives me ideas of playing up with hairstyles and pieces of fabric in my -long- hair come spring/summer, could be very cool in vacations since i always have my hair up.. i'm in much need for new ideas cause i'm boring myself doing the same styles all the time

Lena...I agree with you! I'm inspired too!

I have tried the fabric intertwining thing....works quite well and it's relatively simple to do. I made two plaits at each side of my head, braiding with fabric and then bought them up over the front on my crown so they made a kind of plaited headband if that makes sense.

Call me crazy, but I have always associated ultra long hair with lots of ornaments with my grandmother.... ....and that's not a good thing.. :ninja:

I find it kind of odd since the three labels mentioned, especially Lacroix and Gaultier, always do these fantastical coifs.

Maybe it's just done in a more reality based way this season and people looked at it as more than just styling tricks?

The hairstyles are beautiful.
But I personally prefer to keep things simple..not much time in the morning ;)

I dont even know what to do with my hair anymore... its waist long, extremely thick, black and wavy. Flat ironed it looks nice and sleek, but i wish i could do stuff like high ponytails and the looks outlined above.

I have rekindled my love for short hair. IT was boyrshort when I was younger and I got alot of gender bending questions that I didn't appreciate. But now I have come to terms with that. I went through my mohawk period, and now I have a mop ala Peter Pan. ^_^
