I also am not a big fan of Blahnik. His deisgns are beautiful, yet nothing shocking for the most part. I own 2 pair(both gifts) but i love the shoes for their quality, not their look. I actually find shoes from lower priced designers like Steve madden, Nine west, and BeBe to have more of a unique a trendy look than Blahnik. I'd definately chose his shoes over others when it comes to formal events though.

I think his shoes are not supposed to be super trendy but more classic esp. the Mary Janes. You can wear those forever and they'll never be out of style. I also think that there are a couple of really unique styles that are not boring at all.

Thats definately understandable. But i dont have a classic style, i like to look different, more original. So thus the reason why his style doesnt generally appeal to me. His quality is just about unbeatable, but his look isnt anything new for the most part. Like you said, classics.

is the quality of MB really that great?
Why are they so cheap (speaking about resale value here too!) compared to other hot shoe brands:unsure:

Do you mean the retail price is cheap or the prices that they go for on ebay? Imo the retail prices are not cheap at all. Compared to most Louboutins they retail for about the same (The Mary Janes are all $550+ and the Sedarabys even more and some shoes even retail for $900).
Well, the fact that they are going for less on ebay might be the lack of desirability. As most styles are rather classic than special people might not want to spend that much on them. I also think it has to do with the still ongoing Louboutin craze because most women consider MBs less "sexy" compared to Loubs.

where the heck do you think places like Steve Madden get their design inspirations....not from their own creative brains but they copy styles, designs and features from top brands...Balenciaga, louboutin Prada, Gucci, Manolo, etc......nothing of theirs is original

hot shoe brands....are hot bc celebs wear them and people want them bc they are popular and want to look like celebs.

all the other brands GIVE out their shoes to celebs. Manolo doesn't...he doesn't even give Sarah Jessica Parker shoes...

Manolo Blahnik is one of the only brands that 100% HANDmakes their shoes in Italy.

Christian Louboutins are not 100% made in Italy and not 100% handmade....alot of it is done in China....and by machine.

love manolos no matter what

but louboutin made in china??? that would be news to me. as far as i know they are actually made in italy unless they just recently changed factories?

Thats definately nothin new, ive known that for quite a while. But you cant wear trendy shoes, forever, why? Because theyre just a trend, there will be a new one next season. Thats why i'd rather go to MB and get classics(That will stay in style forever) and pay decent money for them and the quality and then go pay 100-150 dollars for designers like stevemadden or ninewest or bcbg and buy their trendier shoes(and knockoffs) because its less expensive. Why would i pay money that i dont have to for a pair of shoes that wont even be "in" for that long? Its a waste.

Are you 100% sure of that. It could be considered libel. :(

A lot of MB shoes are not classics for me (because they're pointy), but there a few timeless pairs.
If they quality is as you said there will definately be 1-2 pairs on my to-boy list for the future!

Well producing in China doesn't have to mean that the quality is bad, as well as producing in Europe doesn't equal good quality... But it is sad that people care so little about quality today... so many quality issues with CLs yet people still buy?

I think you could spend 300 $ on etsy or ebay and buy yourself a whole shoe collection of vintage shoes (brand names!) that surpass most of today's designer shoes in termes of classiness and quality....

^ I know what you mean ... they are "classic Manolo," but you kind of have to buy into his aesthetic ...

I am very much a shoe girl & rarely buy the same designer twice, but for whatever reason, don't own a single pair of Manolos.
