hmmm...i wouldn't say this was anywhere close to rick except for perhaps the materials maybe. but even there, most of marc's fabric and textiles are recycled or re-produced from things he finds in paris flea markets...so they're completely original.
It explains a lot though--I've noticed that even on the rare occasions that I see multiples of the same piece, they are all unique. Like the top with crotchet patches I got from the spring collection--IF had three, in different sizes, and the crotchet on each one was completely different.
^he was on an episode of videofashion back in early 2002 when they were doing a piece hortensia de hutten's old showroom(before style channel went down the toilet)and there he was taking the camera's round to the flea markets and he actually showed a prototype of a piece that he was re-producing from an old textile piece....not literally but he was using alot of the same weaving patterns but in a different fabric scheme. but he also showed a piece which he completely re-constructed from an old vintage tux. it was so beautiful....that's why i say his process is still etched into my soul.
