Is it still with Venetia? It looks like Alasdair work..

I don't like it...
it's a bit too comercial and plain for my conception of Margaret Howell, imo.
Nothing can beat the ads that venetia scott + kim/alana did .imo.
Especially NOT Dree.
She's not elegant nor classy...
I mean,I guess she can be ,but it just doesn't come naturally

Totally agree, this just looks like standard alasdair mclellan work, and so much like his COS campaign.

Last seasons Margaret Howell with Alana was beautiful.

So disappointing...especially the womenswear with Dree who is one of the most uninspiring models around.....so bland, she actually gives nothing to these ads.
Major fail after the last couple of seasons.

wow...i am so disappointed...
i so like the clothes...i just wish they had done a better job of showing them off to their fullest...

bummer...
:(

I've loved all of the Margaret Howell campaigns I've seen and this is no exception, it's definitely not a favorite but I feel like it captures perfectly the beach mood she created for the show.. and how that beach in her mind (or English reality, anyway) is colder, and more about quiet strolls in the afternoon, proper of a local instead of this vacation, only-in-the-summer feel most campaigns that take place on the beach project, and that's how Dree's beauty fits the campaign for me, she adds the right dose of liveliness that both the scenery and the collection have but her masculine and not-so modelesque features tone it down and sort of keep the Howell identity intact, it makes her more approachable, more a lifestyle sort of face... it would all look very uncharacteristic with the kind of models she's used in the past for more austere concepts (such as Kim Noorda or Giedre Dukauskaite in colorless photography) as they are conventionally very pretty and the 'darker' mood creates a balance of that. This has that exact same balance too.. it's just outdoors, and colorful, but I don't think the essence is lost at all.

I hope the look with the straw hat and black cardigan makes an appearance.

Thanks for posting, Flashbang.

There's always something so reassuring to me about Margaret Howell's ad campaigns. Her design aesthetic and emotional appeal makes me want to live in one.
