Things to know
Incredibly green eyes and a prestigious film debut: but most of all she is aware that the opportunity Tornatore gave her with Baarìa is not for everyone. Her next challenge is to keep a high profile after such a great start.
Personal style
Her background as a runway model means she rarely makes mistakes. In any case she chooses discretion, opting for total looks and symmetrical lines. After all, now she's an actress.

Margareth Tamara Maccarrone, stage name Madè, was born in Sicily. Her first name was inspired by a dream her mother had when pregnant. Her second name, Madè, is composed of the initials of the names of those she is closer to. When she was 13 her parents separated. She grew up in Pachino with her grandmother, her inspiration for the role of Mannina in the film Baarìa.
When she was a teenager she was insecure, and thought she was too tall and thin to attract boys.
At just 15 she left her small village and headed for the city, convinced she would make it in fashion. Her father opposed her decision, but her grandmother totally supported her. In Milan she shared a little flat with other models. She went to castings and started walking runways right away.
In 2000 she won the New Model Today contest promoted by WhyNot agency in Milan. In the meantime she carried on working for runway events like Italian TV shows Donna sotto le stelle and La Kore, and became the face of adv campaigns for Malo and L'Altra Moda. She also became one of Dolce e Gabbana. favorite models.
At 21 she got engaged to a model and moved in with him, declaring that she will quit her job when she marries. And that her children will wear the clothes her grandmother embroidered for her dowry and that she keeps in her old house in Pachino.
Cinema has always been her great passion, and for this reason she attended several acting schools and speech training courses. In 2008, after four auditions and a whole summer spent waiting for the director to give her a final answer, she was cast as the leading actress in Giuseppe Tornatore's new film, Baarìa. The movie was the opening event at the 66th edition of Venice Film Festival, giving the actress great visibility. She graced the covers of Italian magazines Grazia, IoDonna, Cosmopolitan, Max, Gioia.
As the new muse of director Tornatore she is often compared to Monica Bellucci, but apparently does not appreciate the comparison, as she believes to be very different from the Malèna star.
In 2010 she played the role of Sophia Loren in the fiction 'La mia casa è piena di specchi', a TV series based on the autobiographical book written by Loren's sister, Maria Scicolone. In the same biopic Loren plays the role of her own mother. Madé was so awe-struck by the Neapolitan actress that she hardly uttered a word in her presence.

We love her because
She looks sweet and fragile, yet her shyness hides (but not completely) a strong-willed woman who has always made her choices independently. And who won't give up her ambitions.
