TELL US YOUR STORY? WHO IS MARIAMA?

Mariama is a girl who loves to laugh, she loves to dance, love to take chances. She loves life and want to live it to the fullest . She small town girl from Guinea who made it to America and is truly living the American Dream!

WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY?

I am from Guinea. A small country in west Africa. Growing up, I lived mostly between Guinea, Canada , and the U.S. and then moved to Georgia when I was 11!

TELL US ABOUT YOUR HOMETOWN.

Guinea is beautiful, it's where I am from, it's Where my family is from, it's Home. I love the rich culture presence and how amazing and fresh the food is there ! It's my home, and there is something about being home that no other place can replace. However, Guinea is not as safe as here and the government can be unstable at times, leading to a majority of the population living in poverty. I remember visiting and not having electricity all day and having to walk to a different neighborhood to get clean water. It's sad because it's a beautiful country with so much potential. Seeing my people living their life without complaints made me appreciate what I have and it inspires me to work harder so that I can come back and make a difference. Flaws and all I love my country and I plan to go back soon!

WHERE ARE YOU BASED NOW? YOU THINK YOU WOULD STAY THERE FOR A WHILE?

I moved to Los Angeles about 4 months ago and fell in love! Crazy because for the last 4 years all I wanted to do was move to L.A. And now I am living here, living my dreams ! It's my new home !

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BE A MODEL?

I actually started modeling because I thought it would help me get into acting.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MODELING?

I started modeling about 4 years ago and got signed about 2 years ago.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART IN BEING A MODEL?

My favorite about about modeling is all the amazing people I get to meet on this journey and that I get to travel on to these amazing places and see the world !

TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE IN MODELING SO FAR.

I was never the best swimmer when I was younger so never really explored the ocean. I got to go to Panama for a job once and after we wrapped we all went to the Ocean and I got to snorkel for the first time ! It was amazing and so beautiful under water!

HOW DO YOU MANAGE YOUR TIME AS A MODEL?

In this industry you can either have a lot of time or no time at all, depending on what day you ask. Knowing that, I try to keep myself busy with hobbies and workouts when I am not busy and try to get some rest when I can on the busy days !

YOUR FAVORITE FOOD.

Everything ! Haha I am such a foodie that I can never decide on one. It's changes as the days go on! Currently been obsessed with all things Italian, from pizza to pasta..omg yum!

BOOK THAT YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING.

I recently started reading The Alchemist In between flights. The book is all about chasing your treasure and how the universe has a way of coming together to help you follow your destiny.

WHAT ELSE KEEPS YOU BUSY ASIDE FROM MODELING?

If you didn't notice by now, I love food! Aside from modeling and acting, I have a passion for food. I love trying new restaurants and trying to replicate them at home! I also try to work out a lot when I have free time and love to try new workout. Soo yeah haha food, gym, oh and Netflix. I can watch a whole season in a day ... Trust me.

WHAT COMES NEXT AFTER MODELING?

I'm currently acting as well and plan on continuing it long after modeling. Acting has been a passion of mine since a young age and I'm blessed enough to be able do pursue it. I also want to open up a cafe one day, one with its own bakery inside. It will be the neighborhood cafe with fresh baked pastries and good vibes !

ANY ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO ANY ASPIRING MODELS OUT THERE?

If I could give any Advice to aspiring models it would be to love yourself. Sometimes this industry can be full of rejection and it can be hard for models, especially young ones, to understand that it's not their fault. I think it's important to teach self love to models so that they can learn to deal with all the rejection and be confident in who they are.

DREAM PROJECT?

I'm still not sure because there is so much that I want to do. I think right now it would be to start in my own show on a major network like ABC or the CW.

Well I'm sadly caught up with Grey's Anatomy, so now I have to wait every Thursday's for it to come on. I just finished stranger things if that count ?? Lol I think I have watched every show on Netflix.

IF YOU’RE GONNA HAVE A BOOK WHAT TITLE WOULD IT BE?

It would be a book on food , filled with recipes, food pictures, and how to make it healthier versions of each food. maybe call it " cooking with Diallo" or "DIALLO: life, food, love " I don't know to be honest still deciding !

IF YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE CHANCE AND OPPORTUNITY TO HELP A SPECIFIC CHARITY, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Honestly cannot name a specific charity , think I want to actually create my own soon. One that make people aware of what is truly going on in Guinea and similar countries in Africa and work to ensure that everyone has running water, electricity, and a better living conditions. It's makes no sense to me that there are so many huge houses in the hills when some people don't even have clean running water. Something is not right with this system.
