Italian Marie Claire is the most refined, quietly confident, seductively sophisticated, and alluringly feminine-- at least with their future fashion stories, of all the Marie Claires. Unfortunate these fashion stories don’t get the attention, the hype and love— even here on TFS, since they don’t feature Supers, Hollywood and red carpet, and Meisel (…and people can only dream that Meisel could ever produce such a vibrant and still effortlessly chic story as these 3 in his current laziness). But to their advantage in these most basic and dumbest of fashion days is that they understand the balance of creative and commercial, they seem to cater to women who don’t care for all the hype, and appreciate pure mood and tone : Solid photography, solid casting, solid styling. and solid art direction— mixing consumer brands like Beetton and Mango with Bottega and Chanel. All the components that the major rags have forgotten, or foresaken, or don't possess the skills for— or just simply aren’t allowed by their advertisers to conjure anymore.
