Mario Badescu

Some people say that MB works best with really hot water. I haven't noticed a difference though

lol really? That'd just dry me out!
Also do you use any sort of toner? I'm not sure as to whether or not it'd make a difference...

^I just think it's uncomfortable, I only do lukewarm water :brows:

I skip toner. I need a moisturizing toner, which I currently don't have. The seaweed cleansing lotion turned out to be too drying, but it's great for a lot of other things.

Yeah, my skin + hot water = bad combination
I think when I took the test on MB site they recommended that toner and the seaweed cleanser too. What other stuff is good for exactly?
Sorry I'm bombarding you with questions!

Well, I use it on my legs after I've used my epilator :ninja: It's brilliant for preventing ingrowns and red bumps  I sometimes use it as an actual cleanser if I want to avoid water on my face. Mostly when I haven't worn makeup though, it's not that great at removing it.

I love Mario Badescu! The products actually work. After a few days with my sample jars, I got compliments for my skin -must be the first time in my entire life ;)

So far I used small samples:

Azulene Calming Mask - Really love it. Like the smell and it works well on red areas that are new. Not so good on brightening older red areas and scars, but I guess that's not what it's for.
I use this mask on red areas and red scars as a concealer! Just take a super thin layer and leave on for all day. Alone or under/over makeup.

Cucumber Tonic Mask: Wonderful. Makes pores disappear. Even works on pimples for me. This also worked as a concealer to neutralize red. Wore a thin layer under makeup.

Never used masks on my entire face, just on small areas. I have read that some people have gotten pimples where they never had pimples, after using MB products. I think you should stick to areas where treatment is needed.

Have tried some cleansers but not that impressed.

Bought Drying Mask full size jar and I love it. Helps on under the skin pimples, especially if I localize very small bumps and get them before they get me!
Must buy more of this soon.

Healing Powder: Have a full size jar. It's OK but I suspect it does clog my pores a bit. Good to settle makeup anyway.

Cellufirm Drops: Didn't notice any difference when using my sample. Perhaps it has effect after longer use.

I would like to permanently clear some red/dark areas between my mouth and my jaw. Also some small scars. This is where I had breakouts before. It's not that bad but it does give me some dark shadows since I'm quite pale at the moment.
Have considered Whitening Mask but I don't know...

Considering Buffering Lotion as well... From what I've read in this thread it sounds promising :)

Does mario badescu do any cleansing oils? Also, what type of toner do you guys use with the glycolic cleanser? :D

^Unfortunately not :( I'd love for them to do a cleansing oil...

I don't use toner, it dries me out

Hi Ida, did the silver powder work well for you? Ive been using it the past few weeks and it has done an amazing job alleviating my congested pores (specifically on my nose).

Glad to see you liked the Glycolic cleanser too! I'm so glad I decided to try it a year ago.

Oh , thats too bad they don't make an oil cleanser! :( But do you guys think it will be too harsh for my skin to use both the glycolic cleanser and toner together?

Buffering Lotion is my HG!! At that time of the month i ALWAYS get 2 friggin cystic bumps on my chin...but not anymoooooore! I feel the ache of them coming on, 2 drops of this on it at night and they go down by the NEXT MORNING!

Amazing stuff. It reeks...but amazing.

The silver powder is amazing. My pores are so much better! And my BF looooves the Glycolic cleanser

That sounds very harsh. The Glycolic cleanser is NOT for daily use.

^I once used the glycolic cleanser 3 times in 2 days and my cheeks got totally rough and dried out. It's definitely not for everyday use.

I also have the silver powder and I'm on the fence about it . . . it does make my skin softer and smoother, and made my nose less oily the next day, but I didn't really see any big change in blackheads. However, I only have a few and they're very small, so I think the powder would be great for someone with larger pores. I'll continue to experiment with the powder too.

I have blackheads on and around my nose. I was wondering if I were to steam my pores open, then apply the silver powder, would it suck them out? If not, I'm going to have to do some research and make a clay mask of my own, because I've tried everything else to get rid of them.

I once used the Glycolic Cleanser for about a week day and night and my skin was fine, but I don't have incredibly sensitive skin.
Also back to the Silver Powder does it work well when used prior to pore strips? So far the powder alone has been good but my pores and blackheads are still pretty bad

It does lift the so that they are WAY easier to extract...pore strips are mush more fun with the silver powder

CarolineRose As with all products you need to use it for some weeks before you see any real change

If I have combination yet slightly sensitive skin (my main concern is blackheads) should I be going for the Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion, Glycolic Acid Toner, or perhaps something else entirely?
Oh and by the way I do have the Glycolic Foaming Cleanser, and although I do like how it gently exfoliates my skin, it isn't quite giving me the results I had hoped for.
