Mario Badescu

Ive just filled out a skin test on their website and sent it back to them, do you guys know how long it usually takes them to reply ?
And are they just going to send me a list of products to use or like an analysis of your skin as well ?!

^Dang... Maybe this is their subtle way of saying that they won't ship samples to Germany

Well they ship products to Germany as far as I know so they might be loosing a potential costumer if that's true ;)

I think I'm going to splurge and get the drying cream, glycolic foaming cleanser and collagen moisturizer with SPF 15 from hqhair.com... Hope everything goes well, I've never ordered with them before.

^I think they're wonderful. Fast shipping, I've ordered from them a bunch of times and they've never made any mistakes...and you often get coupons :brows:

I found a swedish website so I decided to order with them instead, a little bit cheaper and I got free shipping :innocent:

The drying cream, should I use it at night or in the morning? I feel like it should be best in the evening but it says it's best applied after moisturizer and before make-up so that implies that one should put it on in the morning.. What do you guys think?

^While we wait for your stuff, I am gonna post reviews of a few Mario Badescu products I've tried. Just in case somebody is considering purchasing their products. Yep, I'm bored!

Glycolic Acid Toner

Started off not liking this toner so much. Although the concentration of glycolic acid in this toner is low, it still made my face sting slightly. I felt like it wasn't doing much for my skin the first 2 weeks, but after having used it for a good 2 months, I really like it! It has cleaned out all the annoying gunk and blackheads inside my pores, so now I just have microscopic holes all over my nose. I love this because it works as a toner AND a gentle daily exfoliator... No more annoying physical scrubs! Not to mention the simplistic ingredients make me very happy!

Azulene Calming Mask

This is one of the products that I purchased because of the amazing reviews on MUA. I was so disappointed. After 2 months of usage (3 times a week), I don't feel that this mask has done anything for my skin at all. :( It doesn't "calm" my skin or ease the redness... I hope I am just one of those anomalies. I would recommend the Healing & Soothing Mask though, I received a sample of it a few days ago, and its already done a great job of calming my redness!

Olive Eye Cream
This is perfect for those who live in very dry, cold climates. This is a very intense, rich and almost greasy eye cream. It smears my glasses a lot. Definitely not recommended for the day time. I recommend applying it before you go to sleep and leaving it on when you wake up  It will last you the whole day! This was my "HG" until I found the Hyaluronic Eye Cream...

hi sorry to bother you with questions but you seem to know their products.

im thinking about getting the glycolic acid toner or the special glycolic cleansing lotion. do you by chance know how much % of glycolic is in the cleansing lotion. im worrited that the glycolic acid toner with 2% is too minimal.. my skin has become oily recently and i have a lot of clogged pores of junk i want to get rid of. ive been using glycolic acid for awhile now too.

thanks! :flower:

Try mailing [email protected]. She's the assistant manager, and she was very friendly to me - she let me have about 7 free samples with my order (the policy is 3) and gave me a bunch of other free goodies. Good luck, I hope they don't loose you as a customer... because really, you'd be missing out :(

I think they mean you should use it day and/or night. :brows: If your skin is very problematic, then you should probably use it both during the day and night.

I think you should get the Special Glycolic Cleansing Lotion. It is listed as suitable for oily skin, whereas the Glycolic Acid Toner is for dry and sensitive skin. Beware though - it has alcohol in it. I'm not sure about the concentration of glycolic acid there, but it is listed as the 3rd ingredient (whereas it is listed as the last ingredient for the Glycolic Acid Toner) - meaning that the concentration of glycolic acid is much higher in the Special Glycolic Cleansing Lotion.

Ingredients: Deionized Water,Isopropyl Alcohol, Glycolic Acid,Sodium Lauryl Sulfate,Glycerin,Propylene Glycol, Grapefruit Extract

Or you may want to invest in the Glycolic Gel instead?

was using hyaluronic eye cream since i ran out of my usual ones. the texture is like vaseline-y and slightly smelly (almost like emu oil). it's ok, nothing to write home about. but after reading in MUA that it would diminish naso-labial line, i tried to put it there and ewwwwwwww..... the skin in that area was full of whiteheads.

thanks for letting me know!:flower:

I have very dry skin around my eyes. It looks almost scaly sometimes. ick!
So, I'm curious about their eye creams (and other things:D) since the brand gets some positive attention around here.

I filled out the questionnaire on friday. Can't wait to hear back from them.^_^

^^ Yikes... Rich eye creams like the Hyaluronic Eye Cream are usually comedogenic, so I don't understand why those MUA girls would even suggest putting the it on that area. I love the Hyaluronic Eye Cream - it's sticking with me for life :p

JillianS - Honestly I think the Hyaluronic Eye Cream would be perfect for you - it's rich, non greasy and very moisturizing. You should really give it a try!

I really want to give this brand a try. What are the star products? Any recommendations?

I really like the glycolic gel - I have dry/sensitive skin, but lots of clogging. I've been using it on the clogged areas under my night moisturizer, and I think it's really making a difference.

What type of skin do you have, and are there any specific skin conditions that you'd like to address?

I have combinated skin with no particular problems.
Maybe just some blackheads.
Although my T-zone is pretty oily, it gets really dry when I use products for comb/oily skin.

^In that case, some of their popular products suitable for combination skin are...

Enzyme Cleansing Gel - mild AHA based cleanser, non-lathering
Glycolic Foaming Cleanser - cleanser with glycolic acid for mild exfoliation
Seaweed Night Cream
Hyaluronic Eye Cream
Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater
- works well as a toner too

The Drying Lotion is probably their most popular product, but you only need it if you have problems with pimples and whiteheads.

^what about uneven skin tone, for example old spots. no proper scars in the meaning of 'holes' in the skin, just small redish areas. which products would you recommend ?

^Ahh, blotchy skin. I used to have that problem too, but switching to Nuxe, then Mario Badescu really saved my face. The Healing Cream is actually a very popular product for soothing redness - I've never tried it before, but all of the reviews are fantastic. You should give it a try! I think the Aloe Vera Toner helps calm your skin in general, you might want to give that a try... It's super cheap and concentrated too. I really love the Healing & Soothing Mask, it lightens the redness on my face instantly.

I feel like I should work as PR for Mario Badescu someday :lol:
