Marloes then Bhömer is a product designer focusing on bags and products and on her shoe label.

Tha shoes she designs and makes escape their archetypical form and function, but they still communicate what they are. The shoes break down the traditional meaning of forms by introducing materials and ways of construction that are unfamiliar for shoe design. By designing objects that do not instantly reveal thier funciton or meaning, design is liberated and made less generic.

I love the 2nd pair of shoes too. The bags are so innovative, I want that double bag in a smaller version. The other one looks like an ordinary brown paper bag, changed into a fashionable version of it. Great work.

All the parts of this sewing have been polished and nickel-plated. Every reference to hand making has been avoided, although this is the most labour-intensive work I have ever made. The piece deals with the trust humans have in machines.

This shirt has been made from stretch fabric and has been sprayed over with plaster. When the fabric stretches, the fabric is being revealed underneath the plaster that has cracked.

i've done something similar to this... i love

The motive for making this beer bar that has been partly wrapped was for me, seeing a documentary on a meat-factory. This factory made one big piece of meat out of little pieces of meat by gluing it together. Afterwards it was being presented as one big rump steak. What I find very interesting about this is the way that people deal with information. Something is not what it seems to be.

Little too out there for me to wear but the concepts are lots of fun - kinda like those dual v8 engines you see in the concept cars - cool, but it won't happen anytime soon

Agreed that the double bag would sell if toned down...
