Ladies Who Lunch? That tony set was among Consuelo Castiglioni’s inspirations for Marni cruise. But instead of going prim, the designer worked an uptown-downtown mix with a dose of cartoony overstatement via trompe l’oeil effects, droopy drawers and wacky X-ray sunglasses. The result was a terrific lineup of chic, fun clothes that might even make a model smile, though obviously not this one.

Love it.

As lumpy, frumpy and dowdy as anything can be. For women who gave up on sex a while ago and traded their hopes and self-respect with limitless supply of Ben&Jerry ice cream.

Who would want to look like this after spending that much money for clothing is beyond me. It is something I will never understand.

It's so boring. Do women seriously wanna look like grandmothers??? Marni always does this!!

clearly, she's just designing to keep clothes in that new uptown boutique. also, all of these clothes are so classically marni if styled differently. take the last look -- nix the jacket, shirt, socks, and shoes -- add sabbia rosa underthings, a non-descript top from the row, with a great distressed tote, "it" shoes, and a long strand of pearls.

no one wears marni like they've styled it here.

I actually believe there's a "Frumpy" niche market that is quite lucrative! Think about well-heeled librarians, teachers, who need to look quirky and frumpy in their jobs. I also know a lot of English eccentrics go for this, intentionally.

not many librarians and teachers can afford to pay thousands of dollars for this look....:flower:

i love my marni heels, does that make me well-heeled? ;)

these colors arent my favorite but it has potential.

Yah, it's not very colourful.
I love the styling but I hate the wide leg trousers. They're a horrible length.
First look is the best.

no too keen on he drop crotch shorts and the length/width of the pants but funnily enough both could be fun styled differently..
maybe even removing the socks would make the entire lookbooks look much better :)

I think it looks quite "Frumpy" but I can not decide if I like it or hate it:unsure:

ugh - I love Marni but what on earth is the deal with this collection??
that last look is appalling!

It seems like a subdued rehash of previous collections from Marni which ended up in mediocrity and a very sober and depressing colour palette...

Seems like a collage of the worst pieces from all previous collections...i'm disappointed!
