MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN CELEBRATE TEXTILE ELIZABETH AND JAMES
Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen kept things fashionable as they celebrated the launch of Textile Elizabeth and Jame at Tacombi in New York City today (February 2).
Joined by their their actress sister Elizabeth Olsen, the design duo were all pouts as they feted their new collection which is inspired by their own jean collection and focuses on ’70s-inspired denim with styles like the Hendrix, Stevie, and Joni. All of which were inspired by their music muses.
The collection currently comprises of only three pieces, but Mary-Kate and Ashley intend to launch a complete collection come Fall.
“With the addition of Textile Elizabeth and James, the label offers a well-rounded collection of casual to dressy options for the trend conscious customer,” Ashley says in a statement.
“The fit, wash, hardware and fabric of Textile Elizabeth and James embody the Elizabeth and James quality and design aesthetic our customers have come to expect. The details of each piece have been carefully executed for a worn, classic touch,” adds Mary-Kate.
The Olsens’ denim offerings wholesale for a little over $100 and will be available at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Intermix in March.
Meanwhile, Mary-Kate is currently working on the film Story of a Girl, costarring heavyweights Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick and Terrance Howard.
As for Ashley? She’s fully entrenched in the fashion labels and is the driving force behind the twins’ high end couture line, The Row.
