Mary Katrantzou S/S 2016 London

It's LV and Dior pre-fall 2015. But it's Mary, she hasn't been original nor interesting since, I don't know, 2013?

i don't like those holographic pieces but there are some beautiful dresses!

Beautiful and strong collection, imo. Love the chokers and makeup.

Hmm not sure how I feel. Her textures / prints this time look way too busy.

the very first few pieces are interesting in a 60s clubbing way but then i find it gets a little repetitive.

Every season is a challenge for her how to top up with she's already done is really tough. I thought her collection wasn't that bad but it wasn't stand out either.

i think she repeats things too much in the show, that's why she feels she needs to "outdo" herself. she should do more variety, would be interesting to see her tone it down a bit

this is what you call the New York-ification of London Fashion Week, I'm noticing it more and more this season and it's not just the usual suspects. some designers are blatantly not even trying, preferring to take 'inspiration' from elsewhere. shame really.

I think this is a very good collection. It's hardly her best but one has to appreciate the very sublime details in the pieces. I've always sympathised with her because she made such a strong statement at the start with those bold prints and she has sometimes struggled to breakaway from it without selling out. She seems to have stuck a good balance here even if some of it looked so Ghesquiere.
