I think that it's a double great news - for the first time in my life I'm actually looking forward to watching a Chanel show, and Trotter is a great pick for BV. Blazy will do wonders there, I am so excited to see what he will do with the budget and ateliers at his disposal. It's going to be ridiculously overpriced but it's a great moment in fashion.

I think he's a terrible fit for CHANEL but whatever, I am waiting to be positively impressed. CHANEL is part of the pop culture as much as LV, Coca Cola, Apple and Starbucks and he's anything but pop, both in terms of personality and offerings.
He's a Raf 2.0 in terms of wit and fake humourism covered by pretentiousness, he's a nice fit for a niche brand focusing on craftmanship like Bottega but CHANEL is a whole different story.
Let's see how he will handle the pressure of releasing 6+ full collections per year
CHANEL needs spaceships stations and Eiffel tower replica built in the Grand Palais, not sardine quilted CC bags and bunny leather poufs seats for the fashion show...
