now if Karl gave Freja the Chanel No. 5 fragrance ad and Chanel Beauty, it would be a different story altogether. ^_^

so true
Freja only needs some fragrance ads and beauty ads
if she wants to take Lara's top Spot.

I do believe Lara will be moved to the icons list sooner or later
so we just have to be patient.

btw, which on the icons list hasnt had beauty campaigns ????
because the ones I am familiar with some beauty campaigns are Kate, Natalia, Daria, Raquel, Liya, Carolyn, Christy, Linda, Eva, Claudia, Malgosia

Lara scores again! She will be featured on the Calvin Klein Collection commercial, which means huge exposure for her. The commercial will air during the award shows starting on Sunday with the Golden Globes. It will also be on tv shows like Modern Family and Today Show.

First of all, shilling jewelry is considered a beauty campaign, so Freja has done beauty and some consider eyewear beauty, especially if it is not attached to a campaign for a fashion collection, so Tom Ford Eyewear may be considered beauty campaign as well. Also, there are distinctions when it comes to beauty campaigns, if you get a Lancome or Estee Lauder contract, that's huge; if you get a cosmetics or fragrance campaign from a desgn house, it is not as clear cut. If it runs for just one season in the big fashion magazines then IMO, other than it adding to the model's versatility and the diversity of her portfolio, which is significant, that is no different than a fashion campaign; if it runs several seasons and / or it involves TV, and perhaps even distribution in mainstream magazines, signage and billboards, then I would still not give it the weight of a Lancome, Estee Lauder or heck even a Maybelline or CoverGirl contract, but that would count for additional metaphoric points.

Another factor is the precedent set by MDC and the implied methodology, although admittedly their system can be difficult to make heads or tails of, and as someone else stated agency politics seems to be a factor as well. My thing is that the Calvin Klein contract is huge and should weigh heavily, it is not like I am questioning her being in the Top 5 or that Lara got the top spot and remained there for several months, but how can Calvin Klein and beauty work be the end-all-be-all when the Ralph Lauren contract model, Valentina Zelyaeva is not even on the list and Arlenis Sosa's rank is twenty-something. I do not have an issue with Valentina or Arlenis rankings, I am just saying that it provides insight on how MDC seems to weigh things. Secondly, and correct me if I am wrong because I am not 100% sure, but the precedent for a model who becomes less visible for her fashion work and more "exclusive" because of a contract is to be removed or downgraded on the Women's List and added to the Money Girls List, and if appropriate, the Icons List.

Ah well.. Freja and Lara both don't have a Lancome or Estee so they both don't score there. And for that Lara with her fragrance and beauty scores. But Lara did more then only CK that's maybe the point with Valentina.

I'm not in fashion-industry but I think you're wrong by your first sentence about what a beauty campaign is and the significance by one contract over a other.

Uhm, Lara is on the moneylist #13, or didn't you mean by your last sentence Lara?

freja + beauty campaign ... is a contradiction itself:lol:

Well I agree Freja may not be your conventional Beauty or Lara's Sex Appeal
but she is the walking It Girl Right now and her Unique Unconventional Beauty does make her stand out and I believe Freja can get a Beauty campaign

At least I hope so

i dont see how freja can get a beauty campaign. i dont even see lara can score a commercial beauty campaign. i understand that she got armarni beauty campaign b4 but everyone know know that armarni beauty campaign is nothing compared to commerical beauty campaigns like estee lauder, lancome, l'oreal.

i see tonnes of potential for girl like arizona. she'll shine. if anna can turn karlie into a star then im sure she can do the same for arizona.

I don't consider Jewellery or accessories campaigns as beauty but I agree that Freja should be the sole number 2. She's on another level than Natasha right now.

^Agree.

Arizona, yes, high potentional. I must say I don't like her look, but I can see the potentional. As far as Lara or Freja, nah none of them for L'oreal etc.

Can anyone explain to me how the hell Alessandra dropped to number 10 on the money girls' list?

well that's gotta be inaccurate. 2010 has got to be THE most lucrative year for Alessandra Ambrosio in her entire career. she still gets millions from VS, plus she had 11 (count 'em, ELEVEN!) campaigns. many international. all high-paying.

i am expecting Ale to have a 10+ million dollar year.
