JPG and Bottega are blue chip aren't they?

I wonder what makes a designer blue-chip in this context, of course Alexander McQueen is a blue chip designer, but they tend to not advertise in magazines. To me the big advertisers that I see in magazines are Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, I know that there are others that I am missing. I know that they are tacky as all get out, but I would probably give more metaphoric points to the model(s) who scored Blumarine than McQueen.

^my thoughs exactly.

...sometimes, this is a question about exposure! of course is more prestigious Mcqueen and others... but brands like Blumarine surely give more exposure to the model (becoming recognized opens many doors)

Isn't Max Mara blue ship though?
I thought Carine had a close relationship with them and she tended to recommend girls for their campaign, which made them more exclusive, I guess.
Also fans always get excited when their favs walk that show.

im not a kk hater but i have to say that this girl is not good at modeling. her expression almost never change. she exploded into the fashion scene as a hot sexy young model but then didnt stay their for too long due to her lack of talent.

i wonder when she will get a blue chip campaign as only girl?

Well that opinion is irrelevant to the question though.

I think Claudia is the most boring model ever, but nothings take away her iconic status.

also -- whether or not you consider JPG, Max Mara or Bottega Veneta "blue chip", part of what makes KK an iconic model is her ability to marry high fashion campaigns (and in the past, she has done plenty of campaigns for Dior, Chanel, Valentino, etc) with big MONEY campaigns that get exposure everywhere. (see her current Mercedes Benz ad and the upcoming John Frieda international print/televison ads). not to mention that most-desirable and profitable of campaigns -- the multi-year VS Angel contract.

YaY, wait till they pull down Sasha again next Season like they always do every year, even though she's still in demand on the runways, gets editorials almost every month and killer campaign list every season

can't wait for Sasha to be pulled down further again
*sarcasm

Oh god. Is it really necessary to pin gemma and sasha against eachother? Im a big big Gemma fan, but even i can recognise that both women stand on their own despite having similar looks. They shouldnt have to compete, both are great models.

^
ikr, both are distinct individuals and have done well in the modeling world
I guess we'll be rolling back 2008 with Sasha pitting to Gemma again
-_-

p.s. I'm not even gonna start with Eniko with the word obscurity

Gemma Ward's like a legend, She had the power to attract every big name in this industry, and she's the first one who started baby face trend, and took this trend away with her when she quitted ,as a matter of fact, Sasha is one of the girls who take advantage of this trend.
but I'm wondering if Gemma returns to this industry, could she mesmerize the editors and photographers like she used to do?

Oh my gosh, sorry it really wasnt directly pointed at you! Its just your post reminded me of the constant pinning of these girls against eachother i always read everywhere lol. If you compliment or praise one, you degrade the other blah blah.

i definitely agree that Gemma is the one who initially mesmorized the fashion world and started this baby-doll trend. in fact, when i first noticed Sasha, i didn't think she'd last -- i thought she was just a Gemma look-a-like.

However, she has certainly proven me wrong. Sasha has been turning out stellar editorial and campaign work ever since she started. and she's gained a tremendous amount of fans within the industry and without - because of her great work, but moreso because of her wholly unique and original spirit. i think of her as a bit of a fairy charm. she's just purely lovely.

IF Gemma makes a fashion comeback -- there will be room for both.

i thinks she will, maybe not like before and she is gonna have to start.
i see her career come back probably just like KK's

Guys, please try to keep this discussion civil, model bashing or bickering back and forth over favorites is unnecessary, it creates a negative atmosphere and pushes away potential participants..
