MDC (Models.com) Rankings

It really isn't so senseless that MDC would taker Coco off its top-50 list. The ppl there care about landing to campaigns and/or landing editorials in the top mags, i.e. America, French or Italian Vogue. It cares less about the other editions of Vogues and once you get to things like Turkey Vogue or Mexico Vogue, not at all. And the Elles, Marie Claires etc. of the world gets no points with MDC.
And you do have to admit that with the various the models who did Prada, Dior, Calvin Kein, Chanel, etc campaigns and landed on Vogue covers last year, Elle and Marie Claire really thinks Coco was THE top model during the past year?
No matter how much you love her, she simply was not the top model of 2010, no matter what metric you use.
So from that standpoint, Coco may do a lot of work but it's third-rate from MDC's viewpoint, even if it brings in money. That's why she's not on the top-50 list nor on the top icon list, whereas someone like Karen Elson or even Anna J. are on one list or the other. they may not be working as much as they once did, but they still land decent campaigns and editorial work.
And before anyone attacks me b/c they think I'm attacking Coco, I'm not. I'm completely disinterested in her and her career. And I think the MDC list is full of problems as well and there are certainly girls on the list whom I think don't deserve to be there and girls who should be but aren't. I'm just trying to offer my take on MDC's rationale specifically in the case of Coco.

As silly as this will sound.. this is my take on it.

Coco is too "iconic" for the models top 50 list.. yet not "iconic" enough for the other lists

I don't think she is top 10 and at the same time I don't think models.com wanted to drop her lower on the list.. maybe it was deemed more "respectful" to take her out of the list instead.

This is my take, too.
IMO, MDC should create an It's-Complicated-models List.
Coco, Stam, Trentini, Tanya and the likes should be in that list.

Well its not too often models are publicly vocal about models.com list... so it was abound to get attention. Whatever you want to say Coco is a girl who speaks her mind

Does anyone else think Ginta is quite low on the list for the amount of work she does?
For the SS/11 campaign season she got Marc by Marc Jacobs, YSL Cosmetics, Galliano and Sportmax, plus she walks plenty of shows each season and a decent amount of editorial work. She seems to have been stuck on #29 forever.

^ Yes she has been on it... and if she keeps going in the same direction she is right know, she'll probably make a comeback soon.

^^Not yet. I have a feeling Candice Swanepoel will be on the list before long. If Meisel becomes obsessed with her she could fill the void Miranda left after she got pregnant. IMG could just give candice all the jobs Miranda can't do lol.

I know she has been on there before, I actually meant she is not yet ready to have a place on the list again. The list is very high-fashion centric and although most VS girls are coming back into high fashion, I think it would be premature to put them all on the list.

Well, maybe she only needs a few more HF campaigns to get there again... 'cause her print work has been amazing lately.

^ I think I don't have the patience to look for her different spots through the years in that website ... so I'm really not sure. I just know her debut was @ 49 ... but remember she was just a new face back then, I think that was before she walked Chanel, Valentino, and other HF shows.... and of course waaay before VS.

im sure this season will decide if ale,iza,candice,miranda will stay in HF or not.

Well this would be the first season of returning to HF for Candice and Izabel. Miranda and Ale have already been back to HF for at least 2 seasons, so the question of staying in HF should be reserved for those 2 since they have been the most accomplished out of the VS group (excluding KK who had a prolific HF career outside of VS; and Adriana who's done some great work but not consistently enough)

well miranda kind of didnt do anything last season due to her pregnancy
feel the same with alessandra.she didnt have many thing last season as she did the previous one.
so that why i think this season will be the deciding season.
also we have to see the result of candice gettig the VI cover.and also see what happen with iza.

that how a feel about all of them. maybe is ale gets more work she will move higher in the list.if miranda is like last season maybe she will be drop from the list.also candice potential can make her get a place in the list,same with izabeli
