Apparently MDC thinks otherwise.

Jess PW made it to the hot list basically bc of her show list.

And yes, Leila's obviously lacking in the print work department. I'm not blind. (like some people)
But she has a stellar showlist and big campaigns to make up for that, imo. That's obviously why she made it.

(just for the record, I'm not saying having a strong showlist is enough to make it to the too 50. That's obviously not. But since a user was questioning why Leila made it to the list, I stated the obvious.)

A stellar showlist is not what takes a model to the Top 50. It's bluechip booking in terms of covers/editorials and campaigns.
Besides her CK campaigns, Leila doesn't have enought of that to guarantee a spot in the Top 50 imo.

I absolutely agree with you... it should be a balance: editorial / catwalk. Lulu's case is basically the same. I think she's a good model, but so far beside her CK stuff, Ralph Lauren is the only brand mdc could use to justify real diversity right now. The girl is at a good path for the hot list, but for Top 50, Lulu should keep up with the real Top 50 ones, and when you compare their body of work with hers, you can tell at the moment she can only compete with other girls from the Hot List. Same with Kaia, both of them still belong to the Hot List. Also runway wise, Lulu/CK is not the Sasha/Prada of her era... so her only 2 shows for CK at the moment are not really enough to prove real runway exclusivity. They should have waited a few more seasons.

It's not a "stellar showlist" to me. She walked only 26 shows in her last season, and most of shows are from Paris. Also, she didn't walked like that before 17 F/W.

0 editorial, 26 shows and Calvin Klein Camapigns couldn't make up that spot in my opinion.

Bitterness can make one blind apparently. You might not like her and that is totally fine. But the fact you keep in denial about her success is pretty hilarious.

Leila might be a bit of an "on the egde" case, but I'd say shes done enough to get into the Top 50, and likely will do enough in the future to justify her place there. I see no issue with this.

i like Leila G she is one of the better walkers on the circuit..she is also one of the coolest & kindest people i have met in this game.but i don't think u gonna be seeing much of her outside of CK & a few chip shows a season ..so in conclusion maybe top 50 is a touch above her level right now..

Ugh, why you guys keep talking leila? She is low-key to me.

Let's talk about Top 50 first. This list represents the 50 girls who has booked best jobs in one year around. That's why they list the top campaigns released in one year on main page. So this list is diversity. The Top 50 standard moves every year according to the recent jobs of models. BTW, runway performance counts in ranking to me because the introduction of Yasmin, Grace, Luna, Faretta mentioned that.


Then I checked what leila had booked in one year.

12 campaigns (8 top ones)- almost every line of CK campaign in 2 seasons(CKC, CKJ, CKCK), Vera Wang Wedding, Hugo Boss Orange and Zara.

86 shows-Chanel, Prada, CK, Dior, Valentino, Hermes(opened) and etc. She ranks 17th(all shows) and 10th(top shows) in last season.

4 lookbooks- Givenchy, Zara, Allsaints, Altuzarra

0 editorial and cover (I'm shocked)

1 advertorial-V magazine

Frankly, all above is pretty good, but these are not as good as the jobs of Charlee, Luna, Grace and etc. However, you can't compare a 30th-40th girl to a 10th girl on list. She is still better than some girls on Top 50, not to mention that CK counts a lot in ranking. And I saw her on the cover of Hot List last month on MDC, so she is definitely worthy to be on Top 50.

Achok, Amber and Camille are doing decently well, too.

Nicole Atieno,Lorna Foran and Unia Pakohmova just joined the list.

While Alana, Jess and Amandine are probably getting the chop soon. But they also deserved their spot, when the joined the list.

I personally don't see anything wrong or questionable with the hot list. Seems pretty curent to me.

I'm just pissed that Cong He is not on the top 50 yet.

She must have something better than others, I think that could be the campaigns she booked in a year. (Kiki was on the Top50 cover with 18 top campaigns and now replaced by Vittoria with 20 ones)

Btw, I think Cong He will move to top 50 as long as her Dolce campaign uploaded.
