New Supers and Industry Icons are two very confusing lists.

Especially when you have Helena Christensen + Karolina Kurkova in Icons and Kendall Jenner + the Hadids in New Supers

Also... since half the New Supers list are either exclusively commercial models or decently successful crossovers, what is Isabeli doing on Icons? Irina, even. There's no obvious disconnect between the two lists.

They need to just get rid of the New Supers list.

Adriana, Cara, Doutzen, Fei Fei, Joan, Jourdan, Karlie, Laetitia, Lara, Liu Wen, Liya, Miranda, Natalia, & Natasha can be moved over to Icons.

Bella, Gigi, & Kendall can be moved back to Top 50. I think they are still too green to be considered icons.

I think they might've just added Oluchi to Icons as well - I don't recall her being ranked before.

Some girls who I could see on Hot List but aren't ranked yet include Agi Akur, Alina Bolotina (!!!), Sculy Mejia, Pan Haowen, Aivita Muze, Bingbing Liu, Chai Maximus (!!!), Krini Hernandez, and the list goes on and on. Even more reason to get the unknowns in Hot List out.

Oh, ESPECIALLY Malika after the French September cover invasion. She's officially a star in the industry... among the big leagues now. And I'd love to see Valerie, too.

Christ @ no one being removed though. I don't know why I keep bothering, at this point. There's probably a good 75 on Hot List now. And more than 50 on Top 50.

Oh, and how could I forget Amar Akway? She should definitely be on Hot List too. Maybe Ayobami, given her FW20 season was such an unexpected hit? Denise Ascuet? Lys Lorente? Josefine Lynderup? Lissandra Blanco? So many I could think of, yet so little changes they're making.

The top 50 right now is a top 52 when it should actually be like a top 40 cause so many of these girls have not gotten anything major in years or AT ALL. (Ansley Gulielmi, Fernanda Ly, Dilone, Giselle Norman, Heejung Park, Hoyeon Jung, Sohyun Jung, Marjan, Teddy, etc need to go tbh)....and what in the world is Lexi doing in the icons list? Da f*ck. ‍♂️

About the Icons list,

how did Oluchi Onweagba suddenly appear there? According to their own archive, Tommy Hilfiger X Zendaya F/W 19 show is her latest one and the one before that is Victoria's Secret 2006 Fashion Show. No notable campaigns or covers in the last 12 years. They haven't even given her a flavor text.

The presence of Agyness annoys the hell out of me. She created a giant hype, but her blue chip record is kinda sad to read. A few Burberry contracts around 2009, her latest MDC listed campaign is Agyness Deyn for Dr.Martens S/S 13... Only 44 shows attended according to MDC. Her few VI covers won't cover any of that.

Crystal Renn, again another hype girl. Only a few blue chip campaigns 10 years ago, no notable covers, 13 shows attended. Yeah she was curvy back then, big deal.

About the Legendary list,

Amber Valletta should be legendary already, 25 years of flawless track record of campaigns, covers and shows. Then there's her successful TV and film career (looking at you, Agyness).

Carolyn Murphy should also be on the brink of becoming Legendary.

Tatjana Patitz should be be there also, with the rest of the "Big Five".

Isabella Rosselini, hello?

Heidi Klum, a few years of commercial modeling before turning into a TV-show hostess doesn't make one a Legendary model, just a very successful TV-show hostess.

I adore Veruschka but doing some odd jobs every now and then for 20 years, then crowned Legendary after doing Acne Studios Resort 2018 Lookbook doesn't make sense. Doesn't even come close to their own criteria.

As far as swim/lingerie modeling goes Heidi is legendary. Her and Tyra are in the same category they peaked once they went the SI/VS way which are both prestigious gigs IMO or at least were at that time.

Heidi Klum is for sure legend status. You can't just go by resume. Ask random people on the street to name supermodels and a lot will name Heidi. I dont think it matters that she isn't a high fashion model.

Are you really comparing the prestige of being a VS angel back in the late 90s-early 00s (with the likes of Gisele, Laetitia, Stephanie, Adriana, etc.) with SI from the 2010s?

On the other hand, thinking about this, I somehow do agree about Heidi Klum. Not because Chrissy should be there too, but, on the other hand, today, in 2020, it is arguable that not less and, perhaps, even more people definitely know who are Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Going by this, they should be Legends as well. I am not a fan of both, but Kendall also surpassed Gisele herself for being the highest paid model.

The icon list is very unfair to some supermodels:

Freja and Sasha should be on "Establishment" as their work from 2005-2011 are super impressive.
However, models.com put them on "The Next Generation" , is a result that their effort is just
as same as some random top models like Adwoa, Binx, Grace Hartzel, Lexi Boling.

If Karolin Wolter, Sara Blomqvist can make it to the icon list, Eniko Mihalik should be on the list too.

Besides, Anna Jagodzinska actually scores Shiseido campaign last year, why can't she become the "Money Girl".

Kendall, Gigi, Bella disgrace "Supermodels". I remember the top 50 list was extremely competitive
during 2000s, Raquel has spent 7 years to start from No.50 to No.1

These instagirls get loads of great opportunities without great catwalk, and photo -shooting skills, and
gain the "Supermodel" title within 4-6 years.

Icons update

MDC has recently added a few new works for Oluchi.

- Vogue España December 2019 editorial with some other 90's and 00's models

- As If Magazine February 2020 editorial with Londone Myers and Madisin Rian where all of them have been filtered unrecognizable to infinity and beyond

Maybe MDC thinks that's' enough for her to deserve the Icon status
