Bethann seems to be out of her bubble and nominating other than just POC girls. Happy to see Precious Lee getting at least one mention. Happy to see Jade Nguyen for getting a mention as well, I've been dying to see a South-East Asian model for a long time. Katie is nominating Lila... *cough*
Never heard of Ylang but she looks like another normal sized model, like Jill.

Ha, Bethann can continue to nominate exclusively POC if that's her prerogative. Every season people bemoan her selections, but someone has to highlight POC models at the end of the day. This is not a zero sum game, so she can continue to do so.

I mean, the discussion on this page corroborates the need to actively highlight POC models if the convo is revolving around these 'Icons' and 'Supers' lists of predominantly white models and this gatekeeping...

The industry loves to pick the hottest black or Asian models and spit them out after a season or two, so very few end up with the longevity that MDC requires for their icons/supers list (unless you're Adwoa or Irina).

From the girls in the Top 50:
- Sora and Cong He both have been killing it since '14 and '15, respectively, yet both lack major covers. I'd include Jing but I don't know where she's been the past year.
- Lineisy is polarizing here, but she's been steadily working since her Prada FW15 exclusive.
- Mayowa also has been around since 2015, another one lacking major covers.
- Adut and Anok are certainly on their way if they continue their momentum.
She's no longer in the top 50, but I think Soo Joo also had a pretty significant HF resurgence with campaigns.

Well... Fernanda's last blue chip campaign was Dior F/W 2017, only 40 shows walked, a few b-list covers, maybe it's the time to let her go.

It definitely is for Fernanda, without a doubt, but why only her from Top 50 when about 1/4th of that list can go? So many have fizzled away on there.

This "conspiracy" has been around for a while. They've been doing really great job since they started making their own content which may attract visitors though, even if the rankings are in shambles.

Indira Scott - Basically only capsule collection campaigns, 20 editorials (of which 5 with Vogue US, I give her that), 62 shows, no covers worth mentioning. That's a no.
Lila Moss - Just no.
Signe Veiteberg - She has only just escaped from LV, it is not her time yet until she does some more versatile work.
Sophie Koella - Two Chloe and one Hermes campaign, others only so and so, 39 all over the place editorials, 29 shows, best cover out of total four : Vogue Thailand. That's a no.

I think the thought behind Lila is that she will take off a la Gigi, Bella, Kendall etc.

I don’t agree with it, but I think that’s the logic.
