Waffles - I agree about Kamila, even though I love her.

Isn't it a bit too early to put Tao Okamoto at 27 - the same as Tanya D? And Lakshmi - ever since Givenchy dropped her I don't see much to justify her ranking anymore.

Tao supposedly has a lot of stuff on the way, but it's too arbitrary who gets added crazy high "in advance" (look how well it turned out with Amanda Laine...) and who has to really prove themselves first. I also think Karolin Wolter at #25 is a bit too high, she didn't even get a cover or major campaign yet (Ferré by Stefano Moro isn't that prestigious imo).

Julia has had an amazing start.. but I don't get how she is higher than the other Prada debutante Kendra.

Both are in Prada, both have recent Dazed covers. Kendra is a bonafide runway star. I guess MDC knows something about her upcoming works.

^Julia worked with Meisel for Vogue Italia.

I find some of mdc rankings really bizarre - newcomers coming in FAR too high and some older ones who have been hanging around for ages and no longer seem to justify their rankings.
I am just waiting for lexposure.net's new rankings to come out which are done on a mathmatical basis with points for shows, covers and campaigns etc.
I think mdc just make it by feeling and intuition instead

I think Icon list changed too! Carolyn Murphy used to be number 3 (or 4? not sure)...but now she's in number 6 and Christy is in 3. Angela also moved down in n.12 from n.10

They continue to not have the slightest clue about the who are truly the top working models in the industry. I don't know why I bother. I think it's my obsession with lists/rankings in general. The mens list is just silly. Jon at #5? Sean at #2!?! That is sooooo backwards.

Still no Noah Mills anywhere to be seen. Even though he has four campaigns this season, and opened someone of the most important shows in Milan. He editorial presence is still extremely strong. He should be competing for number one....but probably should be number one on the Icons list, but he's not ranked anywhere. Must have declined a MDC interview or something.

Edit, five campaigns for Noah this season, forgot about The Gap.

Magdalena moved up to 21 today, and Maryna moved down to 33.

i think maryna has been at that spot for a long time now , sometimes it says a model moved down when infact she hasnt .

Naomi Campbell keep getting knocked further down the Icon's list. She was at #6 now she's at #8, Now she has the cover of Vogue Koea, D&G Perfume Ad, Spread in Vogue Italia and she's still being pushed to the back....Now something is truly bias about the MDC rankings! Lets hope she snags a campaign or two for the upcoming season and we all know she'll continue to get major covers then maybe she'll re-enter the Top 5 Icons list......

I don't like Naomi but she is one the most iconic model ever, along with Kate. The billionaire boyfriends, the temper, the clothes, etc. She still gets a lot of blue chip work too, so I don't know why she is so low...How is Natalie Vodianova so high on a icon list???

It's funny to see how people make up things (declining a MDC interview lol)
He was my MOTW almost 6 years ago (check Nov, 14, 2003 since we can't post links on tFS) so we've been big fans of Noah for a long time. Just you guys wait for the top Money Guys list.. There are many top guys who work a lot who transcend top 50.

Biased? We don't book her.
D&G, multi model, versus only girl campaigns for the other girls on top of her.

Korea Vogue- not as well known as the Western Vogues (British, Paris, etc)....
Unfortunately, Caucasian models still get most of the campaigns, contracts and covers :(

Why sad? They always got, still get & always will get. As far as I know, there's way more caucasian models than asian or black models.

Thnxs Betty for responding and enlightning me on how you all determine the list!
And yes its so sad what u mentioned regarding race, but yet SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fillipe its VERY SAD that black models are being sidelined in advertising when in all actuallity the black consumer has contributed 27.7 BILLION DOLLARS to the Apparel Industry and over 6.5 Billion to the cosmetic industry but you fail to see them in print repping major brands like Gucci, Prada, Versace etc.. Its sad that Gucci had a multi-girl campaign and still failed to include a black face, thats saying that although black ppl spend their money on gucci and prada we don't care and we refuse to recognize your dollars..basically your money is not welcome. And Yes there may be a larger population of white models to ethnic models but like the discussion thats been ongoing for quite some time now; Whose to blame? The Agencies, Casting Directors etc....The blame game goes on and on...Not sure what it will take to change this riduculous situation but its surely going to take more than an All Black ISSUE for the day to arrive that Sessilee & Jourdan are the only two girls fronting a Chanel Campaign!
