Not really true... you have to remember, a lot of times a girl switches because they are not happy with what their current agency is doing, so by the time they switch, they have had usually a season or 2 or even 3 where they are doing nothing. So it seems like when they move agencies, their ranking drops but it's something that's been put in motion long before the actual ranking change.

Conversely, sometimes a girl will go up in ranking when they switch. A sad fact of the industry is that sometimes a small agency will do a lot of the "grunt work" and booking all the cool jobs but the bigger agencies get wind of a girl doing well and will try to tempt them to come over or mother agencies do deals with the big agencies. Then when the work comes out 3 months later, and she has "switched", it will look like her ranking went up bec she switched but it's just because timing wise all the top work came out at the same time as the switch.

I think Lara is only hot now because she's working with Karl. Once Karl finds another "it" girl to replace her, then she'll most likely go back to her old status. Look at Brad Kroenig, nowhere to be found now since Baptiste took over. So I don't think Lara should ever be number one at this rate unless she proves she can book work without the help of Karl. Raquel is probably the only one in the list who deserves to be number one, because like what everyone said, longevity. Unlike Carmen Kass who's now considered an "icon", Raquel is still doing as much work as she did at the beginning of her career. If Raquel is taken off that list, or even top 10, she should atleast be at the icons list.... more deserving atleast than Wasson.

well lara had a whole issue of French Vogue dedicated to her, photographed by numerous people.. I think Karl is a big big supporter.. but she is hardly a female version of Brad...

Karl is more than just a "big big supporter". People think of him as the ultimate genius in the world so they bow down to everything he says or do. The only person I can think of who could care less about his "big big support" is Wintour. Not saying she's a one trick pony, and I am a fan of her's, but these days, what kind of work has she been doing? Karl Lagerfeld work? Not the definition of number 1 to me, so she can stay at number 3 rightfully.

I don't understand Sessilee's ranking. Most of her work have been catalogue like and have only booked campaigns for so-so brands. Chanel deserves her place instead.

I don't follow her That closely, so I am probably leaving things out but just according to her models.com profile she has done:

DSquared2 F/W 09/10 campaign ph. Mert & Marcus

Jaeger F/W 09/10 campaign ph. Emma Summerton

Vogue Paris (Sep) cover/editorial ph. Mert & Marcus

W (Sep) editorial ph. Mert & Marcus

W (Aug) cover/editorial ph. Steven Klein

Vogue Paris (Aug) editorial ph. Inez & Vinoodh

British Vogue (Jun) editorial ph. Allisdair McLellan

American Vogue (Jun) editorial ph. Bruce Weber

and then she was in Steven Meisel's American Vogue cover.. albeit in the fold out version

Yep, looks like A LOT of people like her, not just Karl.
Lara is a star, with or without him...

Yeah, campaign-wise Lara performed much better BEFORE she 'met' Karl. The biggest thing she's done FOR Karl, that I can think of is closing his couture show. She could become the next Chanel girl....Heidi has had her 2 seasons...***PLEASE SEE TFS COMMUNITY RULES http://www.thefashionspot.com/community ***

I dunno, I just think of Lara as something different to Sasha/Natasha. If someone was to say Lara was iconic I could accept it. She seems quite larger than life, which I think convinces me.
That said, no-one deserves no.1 more than Raquel. Maybe MDC are keeping her at no.1 until someone else actually steps up to the mark.

Anna J is making a serious case for #1. She has like nine campaigns this season, a follow-up to last season when she was almost without peer. I think she's proving it's no fluke. Not to say she should be #1, but she's hot like fire and it'd certainly be justified if Raquel was moved from the list.

^ Very true, maybe MDC are waiting a bit longer to move Anna J since all of her success has been within the last year and all the girls above her have been around so much longer. Granted she was modelling back in 2004? but she didn't really make an impact

I think Anna J has to wait for 2 seasons or more if she is to take the top spot. It has only been like 2-3 seasons since her explosion and it's still nothing, compared to the consistency of Natasha and Sasha's portfolio/campaign bookings since the beginning of their career. Longevity is very important.

All biases aside I think Natasha rightfully deserves the Top Spot, and I think that if she books 5 or more campaigns this season she will most definitely replace Raquel. Lara has made quite an impact in the industry as someone different from the rest but her Campaign bookings isn't that impressive as of late especially as compared to Natasha and Sasha. Review the 3 girls' bookings for the last 3 seasons and Natasha stands out the most. With the rate of Jagodzinska's campaign bookings she might eventually overlap Lara if she is to maintain her momentum. Even Anja had a bigger moment last season compared to Lara campaign-wise.

I feel bad for Sasha because it seems like she's missed her chance to be #1. I don't understand why Raquel has been at#1 for so long. It's been what, like 2 years now? It should've been Sasha for at least one of those years. Now, if someone was to replace Raquel (which should happen soon, imo), it should be Natasha.

Nope, you're wrong.

So far this year, Lara has:
-38+ editorials, 2 where by Karl Lagerfeld.
-6 covers (US W, US Vogue, 2 Vogue Paris, Vogue Nippon, and Numero. Not including an upcoming British Vogue cover.), 1 was by Karl Lagerfeld.
-8 campaigns, 0 were by Karl Lagerfeld.

2 editorials and 1 cover by Karl.

^Absolutely! What the hell has she done for a year of any worth?!! Though I don't think she looks all that bad with her new do and colour, looks kind of animated.

^The upcoming British Vogue cover isn't confirmed, its not even a rumor, but I agree with you and Laura should have been off the list long ago.
