happy to see freja slide into the top 3. It's interesting that a lot of girls who had their hey day circa 2007-2008 are again rising to the top of the rankings.

Thanks Marcel for the home country breakdown (karma). I knew that there had been a resurgence of Americans, but I did not realize that it had been that much - I had almost gotten used to the Canadians blowing the Americans out of the water. I also agree that only one Brazilian on the list is quite surprising.

What is weird that there is only one Brazilian model in the rankings now.
I ranked the nationalities of the models in the list, if there's a tie the first rank counted although adding the numbers would have probably made more sense.

And they said it would never happen in our lifetime...namely a model who is a cultural sensation...But Ms Stoneis that rare model who sells not only campaign product but moves covers (see Interview, Love, W, Vogue Paris )inspires designers (see Marc Jacobs for Vuitton SS 10) and confirms that a compelling personality makes fashion all that more vivid and dynamic.

Of the contenders for the top spot, Lara was third on my list. However if it is true that magazines sell better with her on the cover and campaigns do well when she is the face of the product and this has occurred on a sustained basis, then she deserves the spot. To me, there is still something flavor of the month about Lara, but if at this moment in time her "it-ness" is that powerful, then more power to her. I will also note that the interest in Kate Moss' was often dismissed as a fad that would soon fade and it hasn't. Time will tell as to whether Lara falls into the Kate category or the Agyness category.

I agree, I've said it over and over that MCB should've been moved with Raquel.


It actually depends on how long Lara can hold her position. It doesn't necessarily mean it has to be 2-3 years.
