At one time Anna S. was in the top ten if i remember correctly, but I don't see how Anna J and Jessica Stam are both number six, when she only had 2 campaigns this past season but Anna J racked up with 12(I think) and was just on the cover of American Vogue.

The MDC profile doesn't always list all of the campaigns. For example in the fall I knew that Stam had a DKNY fragrance renewal, and this spring she's with sasha in the Armani Beauty. Also, I'm sure that Stam commands more mony than Anna J.

^Also, the MDC ranking also counts a model's cumulative 'status' in the industry, so since Stam has had a longer and more stable (Anna J took a huge break from around 2006 I think) career than Anna J, it's not strange that they're in the same place.

^ Yeah Stam definitely has the longevity in the industry since she's been established for quite a long time now. And I agree, she probably makes much more money than Anna J. Her status is beyond most of the girls on that list.

^in as much as i love Natasha,i have to credit Stam as she has has been in the business far more longer than Natasha is, 2-3 seasons ahead i guess and she is the original doll-face isn't she? she also started way before Gemma, Stam is up there with a few Top girls if you credit longevity (Natasha, Raquel,Anja,Lily). It's a good thing that the list takes into account the longevity that the girls have and not just the hype that a model has now

^ I agree. Everyone knows who he is, especially now that he hosts MMASM.

I have no idea who more than half of these guys are. Especially that #1 guy.

This list is a "WORKING" icons list, models who are still booking major editorial, campaigns, runways. This is why Tyson Beckford and Markus Schenkenberg are not on there.. It's not a top men's list of all time. It's th same for the girls; Twiggy, Christie Brinkley, Nikki Taylor, etc are not on there for a reason, they no longer book super hi fashion stuff regularly.

Someone had mentioned Tyson was in the DSquared Campaign this season and I did see an image floating around on the Internet. But none of the major magazines ran it and it was not on any billboards as far as I know. Definitely let me know if someone had seen it in any of the major fashion mags.

Just because everyone knows who he is doesn't mean that he should be included in the Working Icons list. A lot of people know who Janice Dickenson is and we don't include her... she would certainly be considered one of the top supermodels of the 70's.

I know that MDC does not do this, but are there rankings / listings of runway models, editorial models and catalog models. If not, what are best guesses on these three areas.

MDC combines editorial/runway and most importantly campaign work for the girls.. catalogue I don't know of any lists that take that into account.

I'm definitely happy with sasha's and natasha's ranking. #2 is amazing and they deserve it. I completely disagree with Raquel being #1. I thought she would be at the 40s or 30s.

At 30s or 40s !? Raquel's consistently huge amount of editorials and campaigns perfectly justifies her ranking, IMO.

Yeah, Raquel is clearly number one. Her campaign list this F/W confirms it. For me, it's more of an issue of is she a working model or an icon....I think she's an icon.

lexposure.. dont like it. Models.com is about STATUS as apposed to whose working the most at the moment. If you want that then yes lexposure is yours but models.com is more about your name.

this list is not about who is your fav model or who has the biggest fan base. it's about who gets more work. I don't like Sasha one bit but I would never question her ranking. she's where she deserves to be based on her work. and lets face it Raquel is the hardest working girl out there! she has had almost every blue chip campaign, been consistent with her editorial work and she always walks in the biggest shows
