MDC needs to update its top female icons list. I don't see why Cindy Crawford is not included when if I ask all my classmates / friends / basically anyone who can't care less about fashion "Do you know Cindy Crawford"? They'll reply, 19 out of 20 times, HELL YEAH! And they go on about how beautiful she is etc. Ask them who "Erin Wasson" or "Stella Tennant" is and they'll give you blank faces. Isn't this what an icon should be? Someone who's shaped modelling so much she's known even outside its circle?

I'm with them, then. It's never wrong to have similar opinions. Well anyway it's my definition of an icon and I don't actually hate or despise MDC for not agreeing with me.

Maybe it's an idea for them to do a legends list next to the working icons list. With girls like Cindy, Helena, Iman, Twiggy as well as Linda, Kate and Naomi who still work right now. I think that would be a nice list to look at. Let's say the 25 most legendary models in history?

The Icons list had some movement since the last time I saw it, but I don't check it regularly. Why is Isabeli still #17? She works more than anyone on that list bar 3 or 4 women.

^So in order to be sexy you have to be the over processed barbie type of model who's biggest acheivement is appearing half naked on the cover of GQ and SI. Personally I don't find those "Marissa Miller types" sexy at all.

It's not as if I'm calling Marissa a wh*re or something for wearing a bikini on a magazine cover. I'm just saying that she and many models like her base a lot of their careers on being sex objects. Compare the average person who buys VP to the average person who buys GQ and then what the sort of person who buys GQ would do with a half naked picture of Marissa on a beach....and then what the sort of person who buys VP would do with a fully naked picture of Lara.....

Regardless of the buyer's intentions they both bare skin, just cause its Vogue doesn't make it any different. In fact I have seen Lara Stone bare more skin than Marisa, just cause its Vogue or "high fashion" does not mean its of any higher standard.

I didn't say that, or remotely imply it. I actually don't know how you got that at all from what I wrote. This is a list of GQ, SI, and VS girls. That's the entire point of the sexy girl list. Lara doesn't belong on a list that consists of VS girls. Never did I say Lara wasn't sexy. She could very well have the sexiest body in the business. But the sexy list isn't a list of sexy girls..........it's a list of girls who do a specific type of modeling that Lara doesn't often enough.

She has one Eres campaign, but it'd be like putting Miranda on the top 50 list because she walked Balenciaga once.

The list should include a variety of girls that are sexy, and Lara is undoubtedly sexy - she has done a VSFS once. Plus hilary rhoda got her props as a high fashion model, and is now on the list as well. Believe it or not high fashion models can be sexy, a lot of the girls that walked the VSFS this year were high fashion i.e. chanel iman, abbey lee kershaw, liu wen, anja rubik etc etc.

The last time you checked? When was the first? It says right there on the site:

I don't get why people want to be so disagreeable. Lara did Eres once, and there are girls, who by the criteria MDC set themselves, have done A LOT more of the type of work that qualifies for this particular list.

And, I also said Lara Stone has the best body in the business, so I don't get your "Believe it or not high fashion models can be sexy" comment. Never denied Lara was sexy.
