↑ Not for me.. Natasha's (and Sasha for that matter) in a league Lara still hasn't reached.

I think if Lara finally gets Chanel and is a fixture in the Lagerfeld camp then she'll be unbeatable just because it'll be her equivalent as Natasha's Gucci prescence and Sasha's Prada legacy. However Chanel only guarentees two campaigns then you're out (unless you're claudia or Freja).

If you think of it, Freja's a strong contender for the top spot too, given her Karl backing but her ranking's a bit intermittent of late so I guess soon will not be soon enough

She doesn't need to be a fixture in anyone's camp to solidify her deserving number 1 spot. She has the entire package, diversity and more mainstream appeal than either of those listed models. She is probably the one working high fashion model today that regular non fashion loving people might actually know, that in itself is an accomplishment.

I can't think of a single person I know who would know who Lara Stone is. I have a about 20 canadian cousins and none of them knew who Stam, Daria or Coco are. So Lara (apart from her link with David Walliams) has like zero noteriety outside the fashion world.

"Mainstream appeal" does not seem to fit Lara Stone. IMO, models like Sasha and Natasha are everyday faces people see each time they pass a Prada or Gucci boutique. Lara only got the LV ad this season. No prominent beauty or fragrance campaigns yet (I might be mistaken but I don't see her anywhere in the fragrance section of department stores everywhere). It's too soon for Lara to clinch the top spot.

I am not saying every person knows her, thats ridiculous to say, but her coverage has been more mainstream in nature than the other models, whether it be for her curvy body, her LV campaign, the plethora of covers she has obtained this year or for her dating that guy, she has seen more extensive coverage than Sasha or Natasha. Yeah you might see Sasha or Natasha in the "fragrance" section more so than Lara, but that doesn't really prove anything. Lara has had a positive impact on the fashion industry and the way people view it, mainly because of her figure and her unconventional look, people are talking and not just the fashion insiders but people outside, she is a unique personality. That is what I meant when I said she had more mainstream appeal. The coverage she has been getting has crossed the boundary of what qualifies as high fashion.

I'm not sure she got people "outside" the fashion industry buzzing. The way I know and see it (as I don't come from the fashion industry as well nor am I surrounded by people who are), that David Walliams guy is just dating another model. As for the unconventional looks and full figure, there are models who are more popular than Lara. The world's just not ready for her "look" yet IMO. Being in NY your idea of beauty might be broad but to the rest of the world her beauty's more hit and miss. I'm sorry but I just don't agree. Anyway, I'll be happy with whoever MDC chooses. :)

An acquaintance of mine from another forum believes that Agyness has high chances of being in the icons list due to her style and fame. I was wondering whether anyone thinks that this is a possibility? Personally I can't see her getting to the icons list before someone like Raquel, Mariacarla or Coco, so I'm curious to read your opinions. :flower:

I think if they are to move Raquel to the Icons list, Mariacarla and Stam should be moved as well. Stam's career as of late is already Iconic, at least for me. With Mariacarla there is no explanation needed.

Anna de Rijk has been moved up to #25
Liu Wen to #24
Lindsey Wixson up to #34

Siri down to #43
Kendra down to #47

good god. Anna jumped like what, 10 spots?
Must've snagged something big....
and Lindsey keeps moving up?
Hmmm.:ermm:

They moved Siri down? L'absurde! I hope runway credits count too in the rankings. She walked a lot of major shows recently...

If they even count that, I bet it's a very small aspect of what they judge.
On a scale from 1 to 10, the importance of jobs can be cut down to this, if you'd ask me

Fragrance/Beauty/Contracts x10
Ads x7,5
Covers x5
Eds x2,5
Runway x0,5

So that leaves Siri with practically nothing going on for her....

↑ Oh, that makes sense why Snej and Vlada were dropped from the list then -- despite the runway visibility.

It's a pity though. I just l♥ve Siri.

I have to add though, MDC also keeps acquired status through the length of a career in mind so breaking it down in numbers for the MDC rankings is not enough.
