did gemma ever moved to the icons? i can't remember...

Definitely Icons list. It won't be right to return her to the Working List when she's already topped it before and she's already been in the Icons List.

How 'bout listing the highest position reached by some of the most notable recent models? I'll start.

Snejana 7(?)
Sasha 2
Natasha 2
Freja 2
Karolina 1
Liya 1
Natalia 1
Raquel 1
Gemma 1

I don't think Natalia reached Number 1.

I don't think Natalia reached Number 1.

Yes she did not reach No.1 , I think it was Daria But It was when she was moved on the Icon List that her career propelled her to the top Supermodel Icons surpassing Daria ^_^

All #1s

1. Angela Lindvall (1999-2000)

2. Gisele Bundchen (2000-2001)

3. Angela Lindvall (2001-2002)

5. Lyia Kebede (2004-2005)

The situation with Sessilee makes me think that models.com might have some kind of agenda with the agencies. Why would they remove Alana, Bruna and Irina from relatively low ranks but keep Sessilee at 13? They are still shining but Sess has never been the star of a single campaign, yet if they removed her Major would not have a single girl on the list hmm..

that ranking is hilarious, esp the male's one.
usually model who has a contract with calvin klein would get upper positions,
i once witnessed half of the the top male models up there were holding the ck contracts.

i know ck means important role, but ck doesnt mean everything, it is not the only major label in the business.

I think their rationale for that is because ck offers them more exposure compared to YSL or Prada which is what they consider most important for male models

and ck pays good too. when u score a ck campaign it equals to the fee of many other campaigns combined

CK has always made Big Stars out of their models
Kate Moss, Natalia Vodianova etc.

I think its because CK is a High Fashion Name
but appeals also to commercial and the likes

exactly Lira, CK is one of those high fashion brands that have been able to reach ur everyday citizen, because of their strong media work (huge billdoards, tv ads, regular use of high profile celebrities, etc etc)...something that for example a Prada man campaign won't ever achieve because ur everyday citizen is "afraid" of the "elitism" that certain brands display, therefore for a man those kind of campaigns(ck) are far better or at least more desirable...

Would you guys join me to make a guessing game about the debut ranking of Daphne Groeneveld?
I think she would debut at between 30-25 on MDC TOP50 list next week with a Vogue Paris cover, several Vogue editorials and AD for Miu Miu F/W 10 etc. comparing with other models under the similar condition, for example ,Rose Cordero debuted at 28 with a Vogue Paris Cover and never moves but since she's black, it's more difficult to get a major magazine cover. so lets' compromise a little and that would be fair for daphne to be placed between 30-25, do you agree with me ?
