Melania Trump got dressed again, this time for the state dinner at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England. She wore a buttercup gown with shoulder capes that says, “I’m the princess now.” It’s very Beauty and the Beast, which, well, are we tired of sartorial metaphors yet? Let’s just say she looks regal, and in a different way than when she seemed to dress like actual Duchess Meghan Markle earlier in the day.

As they ascended the stairs to the palace, the president once again clasped the hand of Prime Minister Theresa May, while Melania walked hand-in-hand with May’s husband Philip.

The road to dinner was paved in peaceful protest, and somewhere in London a large inflatable balloon shaped like Donald Trump as a baby took flight. For security reasons or what have you, Blenheim Palace, an hour away from central London, was chosen as the location for dinner. It’s the only palace in Britain that neither the monarchy nor the church own. The foursome, plus other dignitaries and government employees, looked on as the Scots, Irish, and Welsh Guards performed. The entrance married Trump’s two favorite things: red carpets and militaries.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will not attend dinner; she’ll instead meet the Trumps over tea at Windsor Castle on Friday.
