How did you get started in the modeling business?
Melina: I worked in a restaurant (pizza hut) in Munich, in which my present bookers, Jan Eric and Yannis, saw me and asked me the typical question...
Did you always dream of being a model?
Melina: Not directly. I was always interested in design and fashion but I liked it to be photographed...
What do you like most about modeling? What do you like least?
Melina: most: the chance to meet amazing people who are an inspiration for myself and who give me the opportunity to discover unknown parts of my own personality. One more thing I like about is to see how my look can be changed. Sometimes you play a role, like an actor, in front of the camera. Quite interesting. And, of course I like to do journeys and go to beautiful places of this world I normally would never be able to go to... it’s a great chance to see the world. Amazing! You grow much faster and it’s a big challenge for my life. You need to take all the positive sides which are given by this job, and then it gives u a lot of power. Although, I have to say that it is definitely quite hard for me to travel alone and to be criticized that hard sometimes. You always have to look good and to accept that some people don’t see you as an equivalent person, with a mind and with intelligence, but I can handle it. Those are everywhere, not just in the model business.
Have you encountered any surprises along the way?
Melina: No...Not that I knew.
Ever get tempted to get pulled into the party scene?
Melina: I don’t go to parties very often. But when I go, then with friends to dance and have fun. I don’t drink alcohol (except a delicious white wine) and I always leave the party when there is the best fun. Like this the party scene is nothing bad.
Have you developed any new interests since you started modeling?
Melina: I’m very interested in acting.
What are your favourite things to do in your free time?
Melina: Dancing ( Ballet, Jazz and hip hop), Theatre, Cinema, Shopping, Meeting friends, Spending a lot of time with my family, Having nice dinners, Riding horses, Sauna, and I love to cook...
Out of all the places your career has taken you, where was the most memorable?
Melina: There has not been a memorable place yet...once on Malta I’ve seen a tornado on the sea and all the water coming up and a ship was next to this scene...that was quite exciting to watch, but nothing memorable...
Where do you see yourself in ten years? What could be your next career?
Melina: In 10 years I will have found my man ( the man of my dreams ,of course :-)) sorry, I’m romantic. … and I’m on the way getting 2 children. I’ll have a beautiful house in a southern country. I’m not sure which way my career will have taken then; maybe actress, author, owner of a model agency, singer...I don’t know yet but the final aim is to own a beautiful restaurant..
What are your beauty secrets? How do you stay in shape?
Melina: Eating well but healthy ( fish, meet, a lot of vegetables, carbonates ); not too many sweets and no sauces...
Any advice for new models? What advice would you give other models starting out?
Melina: Finish your school, so that you stay independent; keep your personality and believe in the people who love you...

Melina: Queen, classic music, French music, oldies
I’d like to meet:
Melina: my future husband :-)
If I were trapped on an island I'd take:
Melina: all the most important people for me, that we could have a great time over there...maybe even a paradise?
