The menswear shows have started and overall I'm liking the trends in menswear this season

The blazer over shorts/ short shorts combination looks quite fresh.

Belted trench coats. This is very flattering but I'm not sure how well this would look off the runway.

So far I'm noticing an athletic vibe. The colors, the styling, the ease of the clothes and all of those shorts!

Dolce, Prada and Versace have all seemed to tap into something active.

I saw alot of oversized, colored vinyl windbreakers/raincoats.

Volume continues getting more and more important...

The suits so far are very polished and somewhat loose. The colour palette is mostly soft greys, silver and white. Also I see alot of white on white and grey on grey combo's

Menswear Trends S/S 07

Well I thinks we needed to start a new thread so hear we go. One of the trends am seeing a lot of are the plastic material coats and jackets in vibrant colors like cobalt blue and safety orange.

menswear trends s/s 07

I know it's probly a little early to do this but I've noticed some trends in the shows that I've seen so far that make me wonder if anyone else has noticed.

-Bright techno colors
-Baggy trousers
-80's over-tone
-feminine over-tone & details
-Sport wear themes
-Boxy cut suits

....Has any else noticed these or something else that I may have missed. i would really like to know.

I love the belted trenches. I saw a lot so far that are NOT using the belt that comes with the trench but a normal/waist belt.

Its kind of an interesting look.

I've also noticed that layering is being pushed less by designers. And it's about time! The techno/futuristic stuff is a nice touch, too. The blazer and shorts combination isn't really a trend for Spring 2007 I don't think. Everyone shows it year after year and no one in the real world actually wears it. But I think it's a good look sometimes. Sad to say it, but it actually looks better in the Dolce & Gabbana show than anywhere else.

I think short shorts is a trend for s/s 07 but I'm not sure how that will transfer to real life..

I like alot of the looks comming through, although not such a fan of the trench coats. I think alot of these looks work well on the runway but agreeing with the comments before some of them will take alot to pull off.

Time for Nair! Yes, even there...

Not only short shorts but short shorts over smooth upper thighs. Are men going to be willing to get waxed for fashion? Tsk tsk... Riddle me this: are these casual shorts or just swim wear thrown under more formal, out of the pool gear?

Im also starting to see alot of safari like looks. Safari type jackets, animal prints, and python leather jackets.

baggy baggy pants. which i DESPISE. ugh. show after show after show just sends out these loose-fitting, unflattering pants. don't like it at ALL.

the colour palette seems to be pretty neutral this year, which i DO like. but i'm not really a fan of the athletic style, and as Spike pointed out earlier, it certainly seems to be a trend on the runways.

i'm overall a little disappointed by Milan this year. can't wait for Paris!!
