I'm starting fashion school in the fall and I was thinking about buying a messenger bag to carry everything around in but do you guys think thats a good idea? Are messenger bags not fashiony enough? Suggestions?

A great messenger bag company that allows you to customize your preferences (color, top handle or no top handle, size, accessories, etc.) is Timbuk2, www.timbuk2.com They manufacture many of their bags in the U.S., actually here in San Francisco and they are the absolute sturdiest bags around, and I don't even work for them, check them out!

I've got a timbuk2 bag. very sturdy, holds lots of things, and fits nicely against your body. and i think it looks better the more beat up it gets.


i also recently got that apres... bag from Luna Boston posted above. Used a lucky coupon and got it for $40 (down from $149). It's cute, but it won't fit books very easily. It won't fit textbooks at all. Still, it's good for running around town.
