Michaela Hlavackova

I am working on the translation:)

To hellscent-yep, I couldnt even finish reading it...terrible, but stupid people are everywhere....

The translation...

What is it like to switch the shiny world of modeling for the common life and back?

-The life at home is rather relaxed for me. When I am abroad, it means I am working. That’s why I am always looking forward to coming here, I can “turn off”. The best form of relax for me is studying. I don’t really find world of modeling shiny…

What is the world of modeling like then?

-I find it arduous. I am in it mostly because of the opportunity to travel. I have traveled almost all over the world.

What about the topmodels?

-I did Givenchy show in Paris with Naomi. She was beaming such an unusual energy saying to us something like – keep the distance. But she is older though, we were just 14-17 years old girls.
And about designers…I met Donatella during Versace show, I knew her from magazines differently, but she was really nice as well as Karl Lagerfeld.

What is it like in the Backstage?

-Since I had more shows a day, I was sometimes late. Therefore when I came there were three people to dress me, three people to do the make up, another three to take care of my hair and I was just conformably standing there. I found it kinda funny.

Isn’t it stressful?

-It might be for the girls, whose primer aim is modeling and they do everything for it, but I am okay with it.
Sometimes I take an one hour long lunch break, even though I missed few castings because of it…

Can you take the liberty to do this?

-I won’t do anything against my health…

What about your school?

-I am trying to pay the same amount of attention to both, school and modeling, but it’s true that I adjust my program more according to my work than education. However, I should decide if I want to achieve more in modeling…I am really indecisive in this…I cant be devoted to something only for 50%.

What do you study?

-I am in the second grade in High school ( that means 2 years before graduation…something like sophomore). It is really important for me and I wont leave in any case. I am interested in languages, history, I would love to work in diplomacy. Because when I say I come from Slovakia, people don’t know if it’s in Europe or Asia…and I am kinda sad because of that.

What does your agency think about that?

-It’s normal that they don’t really like when I refuse to do a show or photo shoot because of school. They would be glad if I was studying with individual plan, otherwise the traveling home is tiring me. On the other hand I know that now I could be amongst the best in modeling, but in a half a year can fall so low that I wont ever be able to get back. Because nowadays girls are on top just for 3-4 years.

That’s because it’s a competition, isn’t it? Models are said to act like rivals in the backstage…

-Many people think so but I have never experienced anything like that. We don’t look at each other thinking- “you have stolen my campaign”. We are friends, but it’s not that kind of friendship you have with somebody you have known for a long time.

What else have you heard about models?

Some people think that models get the job only by having “something” with the client…And even though this is not true I am not able to change this common belief.
People think we have so much money on our accounts…my classmates keep asking me if I am already a millionaire.

And are you not?

Not yet. Part of my income goes to my agency, but of course if there wasn’t any advantage up to some point I wouldn’t do it.

Well known is the sentence that models are just hangers for clothes, just a good.

-Sometimes they deal with us this way. When they call you at two o clock after midnight to come to try some clothes or if we have to pose in bikini in the winter. But the most important is the fact that I don’t find myself to be a good. If I really don’t like something, I say it to my client.

What reaction do you encounter then?

-Mainly postive. Not many girls do it that way…Some of them will just “stand on they head” if the client asks for that.

You are amongs the top 50 models right now…

-I learnt this by chance, I don’t really watch this, but sure it’s a nice feeling.

Do u know why you are so successful?

-I might have something what attracts the client. Some people say I am like a chameleon, I look different in every picture.

Do you have any experience in showbusiness(as your grandfather and father are actors)?

-No, they never push us to anything, they didn’t take us with…while shooting and so.
They probably didn’t even want us to do something like that.

Why did u try modeling then?

-My mom suggested that. She told me to go to Elite casting, it really didn’t come to my mind before. I didn’t have the dream to become a model.

Do you have the feeling that you have change over the time you have spent doing modeling?

-Actually, I don’t think so. I haven’t noticed any negative reaction so far.
Maybe I just had to learn how to take care of myslelf …how to be more independent.

I am sorry for the mistakes that might occur or if u dont understand what I meant by something just tell me...I ll explain:))

that's really sweet... thanks a lot. she sounds really down to earth. i like her a lot - especially in her glasses - she looks intelligently beautiful :)

I. LOVE. Her eyes. They are big and blue, and I don't know why they stand out to me, but they really do.
